Surin Immigration - reporting arrival within 24 hours

Hello All

Reading a current thread on registering arrival at you 'home' in Thailand and subsequent fines where non compliance was noted, I was wondering how and where people in the Surin area are registering.

I have never set foot inside the immigration office in Surin! I arrive on tourist visas.

I have previously registered with the local police, and would appreciate knowing if this is enough? Also registered via house book, and pink id card.

So living a few kilometers outside Surin, in your opinion, to avoid any future or fines conflict what should be my preferred option. Given I don't count not reporting at all as an option

Appreciate any input you can offer

Thanks

Best wishes
