Any recommendation for buying ukulele in Koh Samui?

Featured Replies

Hello, I am visiting Koh Samui for a few months and I am looking for a concert ukulele (new or used). Do you have any recommendation for buying ukulele in Koh Samui? I tried Big C and the ukuleles there seem to be too... colorful.

Any tips or comments are appreciated!

correction on name for location in Maenam :

It's near "Maenam Trading" entrance!  Same side...as entrance to that...(right side if coming from Bophut)

Also another Guitar shop in Nathon, just before the start of the one way system coming from Maenam... almost across from the police station, if memory serves.

Thanks Jimmy. I know the folks in Maenam, nice people and a lot of stringed instruments.

On the evening markets, there is a elderly guy selling musical instruments, ukuleles mainly. There is an evening market at Fisherman Village tomorrow Monday, otherwise Thursday at Maenam Walking Street (don't know where there might be market Tuesday and Wedbesday).

Otherwise the musical shop as quoted above by the corner Maenam Trading...

I found the store located at the entrance to Mae Nam Trading on Google Maps  The name of the shop is 'Gitarrenshop' and it is indeed on the main road. @evadgib, thank you for the information! I think I might go check it out sometime soon. Cheers!

Another possibility – I wasn't sure, know the sell guitars, but after a revisit I am – is the B2S shop in Central Festival, which sell books, and art products, and much more; they also sell ukuleles.

They also have models with a build-in tuner-device and I noticed price-level was from little over 2,000 baht to about 2,600 baht...

Not knowing if OP has found a ukulele yet, but I noticed that BigC has a quite amazing selection in the bicycle-department – well, they also sell little musical instruments there, including a nice kids-size drum-kit; just mention it, if one's home is becoming too quiet – maybe it can also help others, in search for musical instruments...

@khunPerKop kun ka. Very kind with the photos too! In the end, I got one to play while I was in Koh Samui from the Lazada online mall. All the best to all of you.
