Sapsiree and Dechapol

Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Sapsiree Taerattanachai reached their second semi-final of the season as they routed out German Mark Lamsfuss and Isabel Herttrich in just 28 minutes in the mixed doubles quarter-finals of the US$120,000 Swiss Open in Basel on Friday.

A month after reaching the final at home in the Thailand Masters, the third seeded duo was back in the last four again, finishing off their European opponents in straight games 21-14 21-17.

Up next for the in-form pair are Chinese top seeds Zheng Siwei and Chen Qingchen who trashed Mathias Christiansen and Sara Thygesen of Denmark 21-13 21-19. The Thai players just lost to the Chinese duo in straight games last week at All England Open.

However, in the women’s doubles Sapsiree and Puttita Puttita Supajirakul lost to Chinese Bao Yixin and Yu Xiaohan 14-21 13-21.
