One dead as storm wreaks havoc in Nong Khai

A tropical depression storm hit Nong Khai province, resulting in damage to residents’ properties and rice harvests in three districts. One person was reported killed when their house collapsed.

 

The landmark Phana Nak statue, in front of Lamduan Temple in Muang Nong Khai district, was also damaged by flying debris.

 

Somkid Pimpasak, an electrician from the regional electricity office, said some power poles were broken or collapsed as a result of the storm.

The provincial disaster prevention office found at least 55 houses damaged.
