BANGKOK: -- Hua Lampong or Bangkok railway station now disallows passengers on predawn trains to stay overnight at the station under its revised measures to upgrade the standards of the station.

State Railway of Thailand (SRT) deputy governor Tanongsak Pongprasert said the new measures are the joint effort of the SRT and the Ministry of Social Welfare and Human Security to tackle problem of homeless people and beggars taking railway station as their home for overnight sleeping, and to upgrade the station standards to international level.

He said from now, after the last night train departs Hua Lampong at 11.30 pm, all people would be good to leave the station.

For passengers awaiting for departure on predawn trains, they will be told to stay outside at the arranged footpath in front of the station.
