March 24, 20178 yr There was a clapped out old Honda scooter pushed into the back of the garage of a house I bought last month. When I asked the previous owner about it she said it had belonged to her brother who bought a big bike and augured in the first day he owned it. It has no plate or any other documents and she told me to consider it mine. I pushed it 2km (ugh!) down to the local wrench wrangler who said it needed a little work and some tires, but that he could probably have it up and running for under 2000 baht. I need a scooter for local stuff here in the village. But can this thing be made legal? And if not, how different would it be from all the other unlicensed bikes I see buzzing around here. I live in the sticks, so there is no huge police presence, but I do see an occasional roadblock. The last one was pulling over anyone without a helmet. I wear a helmet. Any advice?
March 24, 20178 yr Just get it running... Wear a helmet and always have 200 baht cash on you, in case you do get stopped... I'm not condoning breaking the law in any way, shape or form :)
