I recently switched from an Asus to a Huawei Mate 8, which i guess is similar. The phone is fantastic, the best i have ever owned, way better than the Asus or top end Samsung.  I would never go back now. Why would you need servicing on a new phone?

Better than a top end Samsung in what way? Everything I have read says otherwise.

I bought an Asus zenfone in October and had lots of probs, the big one being that I couldn't connect it to my Asus laptop...ended up having to transfer files by removing the SD card and etc...but admittedly that may have been a prob with the laptop and not the phone...

bought a Huawei in January thb1500 cheaper but with bigger 5.5" screen and now OK, not as nice as the zenfone with no fingerprint device and plastic back cover but more pleasing...much friendlier android interface but could connect to the Asus laptop by bluetooth only to transfer photos...

recently bought a new lenovo laptop (the Asus keyboard had packed up and was never very responsive to begin with) and now can connect with the Huawei phone in the usual way with USB...

a nice phone fer about thb4500, 2GB/16GB...but the laptop is my primary device and use the phone for calls, music and camera mostly...Ok fer checking email and looking at the news when wifi is available away from home...

it really depends. My friends says Huawei P8 was built with good quality and i agree with that.

This week GSMArena reported the new Huawei P10's finish chipping off after only a day or two's use. Never had problems like that on 4 Samsung devices.

I've had a Huawei P9 since January and I'm extremely happy with it, wouldn't swap it for anything. Excellent phone, good build, long lasting battery, takes splendid photos, all at a great price.

There are local service centers in Thailand, hopefully I won't need one, you can find your nearest one on their website.

Phone just updated to Android 7 Nougat a couple of weeks ago.

The P9 (5.2") was as big as I was happy to go, having had a Samsung Galaxy S2 (4.3") for the last five years. But whichever Huawei you opt for I doubt you'll be disappointed, they make good phones and tablets.

Look at the P10 too.

I'll probably get a P10 Plus next week, even though they will only sell the lesser model here, despite what the TV Tech blog says.
