Just out of interest has anyone met any Thai celebrities or famous people whilst living out here? Or anyone famous on holiday in Thailand?

As for me, only a couple of Thai soap opera stars that my wife pointed out once at my local shopping mall.

As for famous holidaymakers none, though many had claimed they were famous.

Yep...........Famous comedy guy who is still on tele....

I met George Harrison at a historic motor racing meeting in England. It was only about a year before his death and he didn't look well.

We did get is autograph, but we asked him to sign it on behalf of a friend who is a huge Beatles fan.

Glastonbury, '94 or '95 while waiting for Blur to come on stage, a short, reddish haired guy appeared before me in the crowd, maybe about 2m away. Our eyes locked for some reason and I recognised him as Thom Yorke from the, then, lesser known Radiohead. Someone behind me shouted 'Oi, it's the 'head! Let's bottle him' and he disappeared into the throng...

I stood next to this guy one day whilst waiting downstairs in the old UK Visa app centre.

Kobe Bryant ordering a McDonald's right next to me in downtown LA. Got a selfie with him.

My favorite encounter is Ron Jeremy in a home depot store. Legend!

I was at Doi Suthep in CM and apparently a superstar was there.  I didn't know who he was, but my fiance did.  She didn't want to bother him and I certainly didn't care.  Maybe it was because it was a temple, but the Thais didn't really bother him.

So to answer your question...no...haha

I met Princess Anne's Bentley  on a street in Hull back in 72 and nearly got killed for it. The police had closed the road waiting for her motorcade to pass, but being young and reckless, I made a dash for it across the road, just missing her front bumper.

There were a few gasps from the crowd and a policeman wagged his finger at me but luckily I was safe. Princess Anne was famous in those days for her sharp tongue, she once told some reporters to 'naff off!'

What a great high-so expression!

I had a 10 minute chat with John Malkovitch on the street in Manhattan (I'm a big fan). Yes he was actually cool enough to talk with me but I actually had something to say to him (more than a fan slobber). Does that count?

That's so funny! I place this post at number 1 for this thread. Are you from Hull? I've been to Hull twice before. The humber bridge is beautiful.

Met John Wayne when I was a kid! I was working a summer job doing some painting on a boat parked next to his Wild Goose in Newport Beach and he drove up one day in the coolest limo I had ever seen and the owner of the boat we were working on introduced us to him! He was very nice to us!

Norman Tebbit the conservative MP. I asked him a question on politics. He'd come to give a speech at the young men's conservative club.

Now that's just a few from me.

Also met Norman Tebbit - in the cafe in Norwich railway station

Prince Philip - asked me a couple of questions while giving me my Duke of Edinburgh's award

Dave Allen - I was walking down Kensington High Street with a group of friends and we spotted him and chatted to him for a while. He seemed like a really nice bloke

Also met Tom Siebel and Meg Whitman (semi-famous US business execs)
