Building Demolition Knocks Out Power in Din Daeng

Unintended consequences: Debris from a demolished building knock down power lines onto this car Friday in the Din Daeng area of Bangkok.

 

BANGKOK — A residential area in Din Daeng was left without power for hours because of a demolition effort gone wrong Friday evening.

 

Witnesses said a section of a condemned building fell off onto power lines at about 5pm before crashing down onto a car below and sending zome residents into a panicked flight. Treating the case as “not serious,” police said they will try to negotiate a financial settlement between the company and affected residents.
