I just don't know why any hot woman in thailand travels alone….its not singapore.

Well... could it be because when a "hot" woman asks such question on a forum like this, most people will answer "I feel safer in Thailand than (insert country)" nonsense?

If the report is true, that ass wipe so called taxi driver is a sick bxxtxxd!

Women, especially foreign and western, should travel in pairs, minimum, because it's a known fact that Asian men find them attractive. Much like a priced bag.

But saying that, no person has the right to rape another person. Period!

Similar reports, seem to reemerging frequently.

Parents murdering their offspring.
Taxi drivers.
Mini vans.
Gang of men setting upon one person.
Road deaths.
Monks.
Etc...

Wonderful!

Cannot understand how the taxi driver has not been apprehended almost immediatley ???

I recently flew in to Don Mueang airport from Roi Et.

Had to wait at a turnstyle thing. Got a ticket for taxi. The taxi driver had to actually come in and escort me to his taxi. Lots of checks and balances with ticket , on site security etc.

Confused !!

Maybe getting a registered UBER or similar taxi would prevent that if a lone female traveller

New message from TAT in adverting should read

When visiting us we suggest Items to bring on your last holiday

(1) A body bag for repatriation.

(2) Ladies to ware Chasity belts at all time.

Beware of Little ?icks and perverted small brains

Me Check the Actual Records ??? I Suggest YOU Do that....I'm NOT Wrong at all...

Why didn't she just take the airport train like most people to the nearest BTS station and then it would be a short taxi ride to Thonglor.   The taxi drivers at the airport should be avoided. UBER is a good alternative too .

You should have written "I have checked the actual records"

One of us cannot read then, must be me, you have a nice day

She should have used uber,, the driver would already be caught due to ubers safety systems.

And the taxi mafia is trying to say that uber is not safe... Oh well.

Ironically they are illegal due to "safety concerns"...

Perhaps it is because she flew into Don Mueng, and there is no train.

Why can't she use a taxi, they are there to provide transportation services, not rape their customers!!!!

I am certainly not blaming the victim, However, if I had a friend, male or female, arriving in Thailand for the first time, I would meet them at the airport to insure their safe transport to their hotel, etc.  I don't blame the victim.  An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.  I have heard to many stories and also have personal experience with unscrupulous taxi drivers.  My message was to 'take care of your friends'.

But how would the female friend travel to the airport herself to meet the lady?   Take a taxi?

What an awful story.

The airport should be covered in CCTV so shouldn't be hard to find him.

And this just reinforces my wanting to use Grab and Uber. Sure, it can happen with them too, but at least it's less likely given there are  protocols in place.

You would be far less safe in an Uber vehicle than a regular taxi. In San Francisco all taxi drivers have background checks done on them and they are tested every year for drug use and their vehicles are all insured and have cameras in them.

The death penalty is a poor option anywhere.

It's actually a truly great option for permanently removing humans-turned-predator from the gene pool and the innocent public from further danger.  People surrender their humanity when they commit murder and rape.  We put down animals for merely attacking humans; I'm not sure the ones on 2 legs necessarily deserve anything different when they murder and rape.

Once again, Thailand very publicly states their totally misplaced priorities. The fact that there is a human victim here doesn't even get acknowledged. How about, "The crime he committed was an appalling and violent attack on a young woman, a disgusting violation of a guest who was visiting our country."

Yep.  Reputation, saving face...  Farang, or just being a person, not much importance

he most likely used a cellphone jammer to block her phone. very common to see for sale in Bangkok.

lets hope the victim gets the help she needs now and this guy gets his sex organs removed.

I'll cut his jewels off for free.... What a Slime Ball... Thailand needs the canning law like they have in Singapore!

Slightly off topic: Are telephone jammers illegal?

I would love to buy one.

Off topic too..sorry. a jammer would be fun to use in a restaurant where people stare at their phones instead of having a conversation.

Not sure about that.  The below just happened in California...and probably not isolated.

[An Uber driver accused by prosecutors of having sexually assaulted a female passenger after she sought a ride home from a gathering in the upscale seaside city of Newport Beach, California, was charged with rape on Wednesday.]

Can't agree.

There are scum in this world, and there are times I wish they were dead.

However, cannot support the death penalty.
