Cheap women, cheap condos, cheap life.

Or expensive women, expensive condos, expensive life. Obviously you're FOB. From the beginning Pattaya has always had its principles. And one of most fundamental--still respected, still followed--is the venerable Up 2 U. Seek and ye shall find.

probably meant cheap as in poor quality, not cheap as in low price

Applies in that case as well. Pattaya gives you the choice of paying for higher quality or not. If not then as prescribed by the equally venerable principle of No Free you don't get it. Up 2 U!

Perhaps so, but Canada is hardly LOS, is it? People come to live in Pattaya because they DON'T want to live in countries like Canada.

That some go, IMO, a bit barking and actually pay 10 million baht to have a place just to sleep in is the point, or not. OTY.

For that much, I could live in Pattaya with hot and cold running women till I pass away ( hopefully in bed with a DDG young lady ). It just wouldn't be in a building where the neighbours make my life a misery.

Sure they do. 60% of the American population are trying to get into Canada right now.

These "theme park" like developments are going to be the downfall of the Pattaya property market !!    Absolutely no-way would I even contemplate buying in such a development especially if one intends to "live" there !!   The are millions of 1 bed condos ( new and resale) on the market all for about 1 million baht !!!    Well , you get what you pay for !!    I think the property bubble is going to burst here and some construction companies go out / go bankrupt - they can't see it coming !!

Pattaya will once again be left with unfinished , ugly , cheap structures littering the landscape !    Pity the planning authorities don't do more to encourage low rise quality Condo's and refuse planning to the concrete monstrosities !     Also what about "green" areas and parks ????  Must we have every last bit of land built on ????

"Planning" here seems to only involve receiving a brown envelope and authorising whatever monstrosity the person giving you the envelope wants.

These 'theme park' condos really have no effect on the market for other types of condos.  They only have an effect on prices for other similar condos.  You said it yourself--'...no way would I even contemplate buying in such a development.'  When you are in the market for a car, you have a certain type in mind.  Say, for example, you want a small SUV.  You likely won't even go to look at large sedans, coupes,  or pickup trucks--that's not what you want.  You'll look at all the small SUVs available. If there's a glut of small SUVs and they have not been selling well, you'll likely be able to get a bargain.  If they are popular and not a lot have been made, you may need to pay list price.  It's the same with condos.   If you want a beachfront highrise condo with seaview, you'll look at them and not the lowrise condos out in the sticks.   If there's a glut, you can get a bargain.  If not that many have been built and there's demand, prices likely will remain high.  In Pattaya, you can get a 35sqm condo at some lowrise 'theme park' condos for around 1MB.  A highrise 35 sqm condo with seaview at The Base will run around 3.5MB and up.  They are two different things and the one doesn't effect the other.  By the way, there are not 'millions' of unsold 1 bed condos on the market--keep it real.

Yep, I predicted it in 2014; it's been confirmed a hundred times since then; and we're all waitin' for it to happen Any Day Now. Get ready! HERE IT IS (our CONDO CRASH porn for the day):

No doubt about it, man. THIS IS IT! The ancient prophecies of our robe-wearin', Chang drinkin', doomsayin' neckbeards have at long last come true. In fact The Promenade was the last nail in the coffin out of 1,000 last nails. The Great Satan, Pattaya City Hall, finally went too far. Yes: it's the long-predicted Implosion. The Apocalypse. Don't wonder: there will NEVER be a major upswing. The downhill spiral that started long before Tukcom even arrived will just continue at an ever-increasing rate. In a few short years, Pattaya will look like this:

ruin3.jpg.cc6d6702a1cb9cf213500965b59dc856.jpg

Alert! Pattaya's Long-Predicted Future Imminent!

Riots. Shortages. Building collapses (Central Festival!!!). Beer bars & go-gos shuttered. Coconut bar vanished. Beach gone. 7/11 shelves bare of food and Chang. Immigration shuttered. Tony's, really, really gone. Packs of soi dogs everywhere hunting the rats gnawing on the thousands of rotting corpses of farangs who, financially ruined, jumped from their condo balconies to end it all.

Only one thing to do: get out while you can! RUN! NOW!

You must be posting from some basement in Nebraska.  When I was at Baan Plai Haad Condo the other day (another Sansiri project. Sansiri is a developer) the sales agent told me that The Base is sold out.

When did you walk by here a year ago?  Stop posting BS.  Yeah nice try but I live here and just went out and counted.  You are wrong.  I would never buy I rent, but there are 1000 units here and about 35 now still have paper.  Many are sold and are being rented by Airbnb, etc. I know some Chinese that have bought 6 to 8 places and are renting them.  Check Booking.com many properties short/long term rent.

To add I do not think the market in general is good in Pats.  But you are wrong don't lie about a specific place.

I was just going to suggest that you go take a pic of The Base and all the hundreds and hundreds of unsold condos with brown paper on the windows but BKK6060 settled that issue nicely.

you keep tellin''em     try convincing others, yes you, do it to yourself, that purchase you made was not the finest investment on gods earth, never will you sell it for anything like you paid, never. now if that is not clear enough, a good pointer perhaps to the future ,you will be taking a heavy loss  now that is guaranteed

I thought condos couldn't be rented for less than 30 days. I doubt Airbnb is for stays that long.

No, it is because they have money and are making more money as ST landlords.

This has been discussed before, but it seems some are not good at math.

Buy a place and rent it out for 1200 to 1500 b a night. This place The Base is in high demand so figure it out at 25 nights a month

Multiply that times several units some people are making a killing.  They don't want to sell with a 30,000 b+ a month income. Their payment if they have one is 1/2 that every month.

Whatever, believe what you want I live here and see the people./demand for this place maybe the best location for a nice condo in the city.  To add get and interior location on a high floor like I have and it is quiet quiet.  I love it here just signed another 1 year lease.

blah blah blah,  yes seen these multiple especially Indian purchases, didn't it go wrong .LOL , a bit late on the game the Chinese, thought they were in for a killing on rentals, guess what? nobody rented , the indian guy paid no maintenance fee or fees, place descended into slum, same same here, but i think Chinese (if and I say if) did buy multiple purchases it was to off load quickly, releasing now major mistake.  A total death warrant on the Base if that is true.  get out of the place while the going is good

ps are they still waving those green flags outside the Base, were other week, surely a mass Chinese take over then?

PS:  I have never seen an Indian in here.  Not one. are you crazy racist terrible comments?  Wow, pray about you.
