Meet the dog that looks like a tiger - whose female owner thinks it's great fun to draw on him

CHIANG RAI: -- A dog that looks like a mini tiger is prowling the mean streets of a village in Chiang Rai and wowing Thai netizens.

But it is not a new breed or a cross with a Bengal tiger - this mutt just has an owner who likes to draw, reported Sanook.

Sanook caught up with the owner of Chiw Chiw in the village of Ban San Thang Luang in Mae Jan district yesterday.

Suthanya or Nong B, 21, said she got some black hair dye and finished the job in just ten minutes. her dog is usually just plain light brown.

Chiw Chiw didn't make a fuss - just like at Songkran when she drew flowers on the dog she has looked after for the last seven years.

This time she told Sanook that other dogs are leaving her Chiw Chiw alone because they don't know what to make of it all and might be a bit scared of the "new" dog in their midst.

Anyway, the internet is loving it, with the story shared 4,000 times on social media.

They should do that to every dog in town. Then tell the chinese tourgroups to come make pictures and sell them something.

Doesn't hurt the dog. What's the problem?

Lots of miniature poodles dyed pink and that seems to be acceptable.

another irresponsible dog owner.

What's irresponsible about that? it doesn't harm the dog and it looks well taken care of.

If the dog is not harmed by the color...

Not that I like it but worse things are done to dogs, carrying "clothes", "shoes" whatever.

And surely not a first timer.

So many pictures of "tigers dogs" in Pattaya.

If I remember right there was a guy making money by painting his dog, dog sleeping/laying down, putting a cigarette like thing at his snout and an empty bottle of liquor.

Oh, and a hat.

A bit over the top.
