More than 100 models expected at Vintage Car Contest

The Vintage Car Club of Thailand, Future Park Rangsit and Zpell will this month stage the 41st Vintage Car Contest, which is expected to attract over 100 vintage and classic cars.

 

The event, with the theme  “Value and Contemporary Beauty”, will be held at Future Park Rangsit from June 14-18.

 

There are 7 classifications, starting from pre-1904, 1905-1918, 1919-1930, 1931-1945, 1946-1960, 1961-1970 and 1971 to present.

 

“This year we have increased the show area to 7,000 square metres and use retro styling to match the large number of vintage and classic cars to be shown here,” said Ratana Anantanupong, marketing director of Future Park Rangsit.

 

She said visitors will experience an old Bangkok atmosphere consisting of Charoenkrung, Bamrungmuang and Fuangnakhon roads.

 

“We expect that as many as 200,000 visitors will come this year,” she said, adding that there are also other retro and vintage items ranging from books to stamps and other memorabilia.

Go there and you will see some of the great old and modern classic cars. The Classic Car Club of Thailand will be represented there with some great classics.You will see some of the best restoration of classics here.Thailand has some of the best old car restorers .Go there .take the family,learn about the car clubs here in Thailand and make a day out of at the mall.You will be glad that you did.

Go to ITALY. Every year in May you will have the MILLE MIGLIA race with old cars. That's exciting!

Would these be the "models" of the pretties variety  ?  Perhaps not.

 

Interesting if someone investigated how some of these vintage cars happened to come into the possession of their current owners though, wouldn't it ?

Thai Minister of Tourism announces that Thailand expects a 10% increase in tourists as Thailand is becoming the place to visit to see old cars.

 

Minister of Transport declined to comment.

Damn it, from the title of the thread I was hoping there would he 100 sexy female models there so we could all have a perv lol. Oh well...
