impulse Posted June 6, 2017 Posted June 6, 2017 Looks like a thousand college pranks I've witnessed in my lifetime as they swipe each other's mascots, revered statues (and occasionally, their panties). I think they're about to learn a lesson in time and place. They picked the wrong ones for a stunt like that.

No respect for being abroad and being fooled into thinking Thailand is a laid back place that is only about partying.

They should be punished for sure but I'm afraid what's going to happen to them now is not going to be very nice.

From photos in the link, it looks like they're jocks, and accustomed to getting away with a lot back home. But a couple of bowls of steamy fish heads would be enough for my twisted sense of justice for all the times their predecessors got away with abusing us nerds.
transam Posted June 6, 2017 Posted June 6, 2017 Do these daft blokes know their flight extra baggage charges for their prize......

Stocky Posted June 6, 2017 Posted June 6, 2017 54 minutes ago, Jingthing said: Seriously. Why? To sell it? Were they planning on starting their own Thai restaurant here? Surely they didn't mean to ship it to the USA!?! Alcohol induced moronicity.

richard_smith237 Posted June 6, 2017 Posted June 6, 2017 I think this was just high sprits.. young lads pratting about... ... I think the BiB will do little more than make a minor example of them - I doubt much will come of this after they have been publicly shamed Waiing and apologizing to the owners from whom they stole.... I do wonder though - this sort of act of daftness is usually associated with being drunk - so who was driving ?

(Steal anything, I mean) But I did put lots of innocent people at risk getting behind the wheel with a snootful. And not just once. Given the choice of losing my elephant to some pranksters, or losing my family to a drunk driver, I'd gladly give up the elephant. So I won't be casting the first stone at these kids, even if their crime wasn't the same as mine. Their judgment was no worse than mine, and the reason for the poor judgment was probably the same. I'd still like to see the fear of God and a couple of bowls of fish heads instilled into them...

No respect for being abroad and being fooled into thinking Thailand is a laid back place that is only about partying. You missed the part they transported it in a rented pick up from Koh Samui to Koh phanhgan, they could not even close the tailgate because of the size. They spent one more day on Samui with various photos on Facebook, then took ferry to Koh phanhgan where they got arrested. I went to collage in Minnesota, this goes beyond drunk college prank. Well, 1,5 years in Thai prison, something on your resume..
