Car breakdown / recovery insurance

Featured Replies

I have looked in the motoring archives to no avail for info on car breakdown/recovery insurance . Common enough in the western world ( UK equivalent AA ,  RAC , Greenflag )  but is it available here in Thailand on a nationwide scale ? I have been told that it is a complimentary service for some new car owners by certain car makers but what about cars a few years older ?

It is available from the manufacturer during the warranty period of higher-spec, more expensive models in their range. It is also available on some first class car insurance policies.

Failing that, you can contact Car World Club.

Thanks Tom

Another AXA customer here. Used the breakdown cover once, early evening flat battery. Called AXA, they sent the police recovery vehicle. Police said if you don't have cover, its 500B for the call out plus costs.
