Rent a condo more than 30 days , legal or not ?

Featured Replies

Hi ~ Sorry for my bad English

I want to ask something about short term rental

I need to rent a condo in Bangkok for 6 weeks but I dont' know in Thai Hotel Act , it's legal or not.

Thank you!

Huh I don't really get the question. Are you talking about short time rent ?

As long as you have the right visa I don't see any issue here

I just knew about Thai Hotel Act and worry about my rent because I need to rent a condo for 6 weeks ( via Airbnb ) in Bangkok , I wonder if it is legal or not .

You want to rent it as tenant? No problem.

You want to rent it out as landlord? Potential problem, but this should not effect >30 days rental. Of course you would have to declare your income to the tax man.

I think op refers to the recent news about Hotel Vs Condo Acts and condo owners complaining of their condos being turned into back packer transit stops with AirBnB type services popping up online. I'm not clear on this, perhaps others may have input?
