Uploading an Open University TMA from Thailand

Featured Replies

It's only £1,000 a course for the OU's law degree if you're UK resident. It's a lot more if you're resident in Thailand - £11,000.

Can you upload a TMA (tutor marked assessment) from Thailand, or does it recognize the IP address?

It's not insurmountable - you could email it to a pal. But I just thought I'd ask. For a lot of folk studying nearly full-time would be cheaper in the kingdom than the UK, providing you didn't have to come back too often.

Use a VPN. You can select which country you want to appear to be in.

I'm waiting for them to reply to my "innocent" inquiry as to how often they would expect me to physically turn up. I do pay my tax in the UK, so - in my view at least - I'm not at it. Ten grand is a ludicrous price difference. My guess is that the UK government subsidizes the delivery for UK residents, so from the OU's point of view they couldn't give a monkey's whether you are out of the country so long as you've got the UK residence that satisfies the government, so that the OU gets their money.
