TRANG: -- A woman slightly injury in a failed attempt to stop the car driven by her husband and carrying his mistress from leaving a petrol station in Trang's Muang district on Saturday night has vowed to sue the mistress for humiliating her.

Muang Trang deputy police inspector Captain Ratthakarn Phromrat said the woman who claimed to be the man's first and legal wife lodged a complaint and said she would sue the mistress for causing her great humiliation but will not sue her husband.

Ratthakarn said his supervisor instructed him to probe this case straight-forwardly and interview all those involved for possible legal action.

The incident was caught on CCTV and shows the unnamed wife clinging to the side of her husband's car for about 100 metres before she fell and a front wheel ran over her.

The car sped away, leaving her lying unconscious on the road in tambon Thab Thiang.

The woman ran into her husband and his mistress at a gas station while the man was putting petrol in is car.

The husband reportedly tried to drive away with the petrol pump still in the car and without paying the Bt300 bill.

Everything you've done so far in this story has humiliated you.

Look in a mirror if you want to see who you should be suing.

What? Why are the police even entertaining this silly idea.

This woman is humiliating herself. Either accept that your husband is cheating and will continue to do so, or leave him. Some people seem to think that marriage is guarantee for no cheating, free cash or babies, etc.

No one owns anyone. You're free to walk away from any kind of relationship whenever you like. People need to get this through their thick skulls.

Unless Thai law has changed from 5 years ago, a person who knowingly engages in adultery with a married person can be liable for damages in court. I don't know if cases have been brought successfully, but it is in the statutes somewhere

Considering the usual Thai approach of violent retribution, I think she is acting in a rather grown-up way.  Affairs are pretty much standard practice in Thailand whether it is the husband or wife so in reality nothing to see here at all.

Exactly. Instead of cackling like a bunch of fishwives, how about a little empathy. Whatever her reason for hanging onto the car a little too long, it added physical injury to her injured pride.

So she has taken a legal remedy, available to her in Thailand.

This is what we hope for, after reading every news report of a violent domestic situation...

The adulterer can be sued also.
