Buriram cracks down on underground gambling

The governor of Buriram province has ordered a crackdown on underground lotteries.

The governor of Buriram province, Mr. Kongkiet Akaraprasertkul (ก้องเกียรติ อัครประเสริฐกุล), revealed that The Government Lottery Office has canceled the sales of 3 and 2 digit lotteries while lottery regulations are being adjusted. The governor is therefore deploying police, chief district officials, and deputy district officials to crackdown on incidents of underground lotteries.

Gamblers, bookies, and especially gambling establishment owners would be prosecuted to the maximum extent of the law. Tax and criminal proceedings would be brought to bear against them as well.

The Buriram governor added that government officials, and village headmen should refrain from becoming involved in underground lotteries, or risk facing legal and disciplinary prosecution.

Taoism: shit happens

Buddhism: if shit happens, it isn't really shit

Islam: if shit happens, it is the will of Allah

Catholicism: if shit happens, you deserve it

Judaism: why does this shit always happen to us?

Atheism: I don't believe this shit

I guess this shows that gambling in Thailand is a gamble.
