Fortuner, which model to pick?

Featured Replies

They can print what they like for times, i speak of reality, in the Mountains they flew past both Spiver and T Blazer, and  from the last Traffic Lights through Nakasawan to BKK they beat both.Thing is it didn't annoy me , a child can figure a Go  Carts faster than a Truck on BHP per Ton alone. Our Kids liked the 2 SUVs they pretended they were Range Rovers.!! Must admit the Volvo SUV did impress me, dont know how much they are, but a nice alternative.

Okay, I got it down now to either the 2.4ltr 2WD for 1.399 million or the TRD 2WD for 1.643 million.

My preference is going towards the TRD at the moment but it wont be till the end of the month that I am going to order, so i got some time to think about it.

(do like the sporty look, the cruise control, and the better resale value)

If your getting a TRD for 1.643mil: your doing well as they start at 1.679mil. Don't think they do a 2wd so what model your looking at none to sure.

Maybe they have already taken off the first bit of discount.

If you do order one make sure you squeeze them hard for all the extras, tints insurance tax LED spots the full works. You will get it.

Just check the Toyota website: 2wd trd for 1.643 million at the bottom of the page:

http://www.toyota.co.th/en/model/fortuner

(or are they telling me to pay the extra 36K for the accessories? In which case i can say i dont want it)

I stand corrected. The price list I have doesn't mention it.

What you should do is tell them you want all the accessories for free. Worth a try anyway.

I am sure i am refusing to take the black roof on my white car.

Re Emicon Usage.[emoji1434] .Perhaps TV could add 2 . A Captain Mainwaring, from Dads Army , and an Arthur Daily so others don't feel they have nothing suitable to use.TA has found his own Happy ones from somewhere.!.[emoji609]?[emoji481]

OK, try this. About 6 months ago, my good friend was looking for a new SUV as the family car and his wife apparently had the hots for the Fortuner. I mentioned that our friendship going back several decades and predating either of our adventures in LOS would be imperiled if he chose a 'tuna but regrettably his wife seemed adamant. We both agreed that sometimes that's just the way it has to be, shook hands and parted.

Yesterday he called my using the SYNC 3 connection on his brand new Everest.

Well to start with there is something wrong if your wife decides which car you have to buy.

Against all odds we ordered the 4wd in black today.

In Phuket they only have the 4wd in white with a black roof (which i dont like) at the dealer near Central and a black 4wd at Pearl near Bypass road. From today only the white one is still available.

Toyota is introducing a slightly adjusted version in 2-3 months so the current one is not being produced anymore. The adjusted TRD version will come some time after the adjusted normal version is introduced (they do the introduction in sequence).

We got a decent discount on the car which made it okay to get the 4wd even though i expect to barely use it.

Alternatively we would have to wait 4+ months while we will need the car by the end of next month.

Thanks all for the input given here.

Thanks for sharing. Do you know what changes they will make to the new model?

The salesperson mentioned it would be mostly (insignificant) small changes as the design is relatively new. He mentioned an electrically adjustable passenger seat but not sure if that was just an exemple or "insight" knowledge.

Expect some minor cosmetic change which we call face-lifts, Japanese makers always do after 3 or 4 years after fresh release. Hope they don't keep this model for more than 10 yrs like the previous model.

Why is that...?

I wouldn't own a Fortuner! They are the ugliest car on the road and everyone has one. I would go look at a Suburu and if you wanted something smaller maybe a Suzuki Swift!
