Long term parking at the airport

Featured Replies

Anyone have any updated news on the new parking situation there? I want to leave it for a week? Who to call, procedures, etc. Any help is appreciated.

Hi

There is no need to call anybody :-) Just drive up, park your car in the car park. Save the parking slip you get in the entrace to the parking area. You will need that when you get back.

When you come back, get in your car and drive out. In the gate leaving the car park, you have to give them your parking slip that you got when you drove in. They will charge you 200 baht a day I think.

There is now 2 car parks, one outdoor parking outside the domestic departure area, and the parking house nearer the international terminal.

I last did this in March, for a weekend trip to Bangkok using the domestic outdoor parking, so if there is any changes lately, please correct me.

Thanks. No need for a slip or permit on the windshield while parked there, I suppose.

No need for the slip on the windshield.

In fact, it is more for your cars safty that you bring the slip with you, since trying to drive out of the parking without a slip will be a lot of extra paperwork.

And that keeps the car thiefs away.... (I think....)

Or for half the price go up the little Soi just past the domestic exit and park for b100 a day. They will drop you off as well (in your vehicle).

The last time I Park at the multi storey carpark in June I park for 7days. Arrived back to phuket about 8pm when leaving the carpark, the male car park attendant at the exit look at my receipt and said 1000baht por liww.

I'm sure he pocketed the money but I was happy to pay 1000bAht as I saved 400baht.

Today I went back to park again when I entered the carpark I realised there is CCTV and some screen monitoring the entrance. Will I get into any trouble?

I donit think you're running any risk.

But what does 'por liww' mean?

No need............I left my car there for 8 days recently and all was fine. Cheaper and more convenient than a return taxi trip to Patong.

Only prepaid tickets are left on the dash behind the windscreen, so a parking inspector can check if you have paid for the time you are parked and fine you if you overstay your parking time

Post paid tickets are always kept by you and paid for when you leave the parking lot, be it one day or one year

Hows the security there, personally i catch a taxi and do not have to worry about leaving my vehicle unattended for a extended period of time , never any shortage of transport at the airport, and if you know someone with a correctly licensed vehicle for carrying passengers they are happy to come to the airport to pick you up at a prearranged time

Yes you have a point re getting a lift but as I had to leave Patong at around 4.30 am I didn't want to bother anyone, and taxis can be unreliable esp given the time.

Security seemed fine and all was well when I returned, so would do it again.......and forget all about the car whilst on holiday as no point in worrying over something I couldn't control, or may never happen!

If you can't answer a question, don't bother responding. Now you're just trolling.

Taxi 2 trips @ 800 baht a trip = 1600 baht plus tip. The parking bill came to under that.

Then the convenience factor as didn't have to worry if the taxi would turn up at 4.30 a,m (and it if didn't, pretty well stuffed in getting another one) then of course feeling safer driving my own car than with some idiot driver etc, etc.

If I am going for less than a week I park my truck at the B100 per day place across the road (ish).

More than a week I get dropped off in my truck and get a meter taxi back back.
