2 Bombs In Pattaya!

Featured Replies

Caught up with 2 different Thai friends who don't know each other this afternoon. Both told me the story making the rumor mill in Pattaya today that there were allegedly 2 bombs in Pattaya last night. One blew up on North Pattaya Road near City Hall but closer to that new Fairtex exercise complex (North side further West) with no injuries or damage reported.

The other was found on the grounds of Dusit Pattaya Hotel, which is very close to the Fairtex exercise complex at the Dolphin Roundabout. This alleged bomb was controlled by police before any explosion, if any.

I want to caution everyone to take this as an unconfirmed report. People get stories wrong all the time. I haven't seen this in any media report so far (15:20 local time). However, my Thai friend is in a (satisfying sexual) relationship with a cop and she got it straight from the source (no jokes this time please :o hehe). The other heard the same thing. I don't know if it's true at all but I'm guessing they're both boning the same cop. :D

I received a bomb warning text message from my embassy last night and another this morning claiming the strong possibility of more acts of violence this week. I take this very seriously and would suggest avoiding the Walking Street/Bali Hai Pier area altogether.

If anyone hears more about this, I hope you're reading this and can add any info. updates to this topic. Thank you from all of us here in Pattaya.

Parking at Big C was sealed off this morning at about 1:30 after bonb warning. Turned out to be false alarm.

I always notify the embassy when I remain somewhere for a prolonged period. They then keep me in the news loop via phone and/or email. Friends, relatives, and illegitimate children could also contact me via the embassy. :o

lolz good one! when are you coming to pick me up 'papa?

Ask your mom. I butterfly man. Change lady. :o

Ahem, back to the serious topic above.

There was no bombs in Pattaya. A gas tank in the boot of a Bangkok Taxi exploded. This was an accident according to Police. I would expect bomb alerts for the next few days as the whole of Thailand is a bit edgy at the moment.

I repeat.....NO BOMBS IN PATTAYA.

The bars were closed at 2am last night due to a combination of what happened in Bangkok and a perfect opportunity for authorities to remind everyone who is in control. I was told by the Chief of Police that the bars will be ordered shut at 2am tonite as well.

We have to close this thread, as this is just rumors and not confirmed News reports.

We are monitoring the situation and will open a news topic if we have something newsworthy.

Thanks for your understanding.
