So here I was on a flight back from the Singapore and I was sat next to a well dressed Thai-American man who doesn't have the right to stay indefinitely in Thailand due to being a 3rd generation Thai - American, his parents and those before them were born in the states and this was going to be his 3rd year spent in his native country (He has exited many times, too)

We exchanged differences between the two nations and also spoke on the difficulties surrounding those who are under 50, have no desire to take an educational course and are not married.

Then the talk of a Elite Visa came up, I was always familiar with it, the benefits and the cost etc, and always found that choice to be a sensible one.

I was actually on the way to obtain one, and relocate here long term. He then explained to me that there is an unspoken of option to finance an elite visa, without putting up a half a million thb from the outset. Immediately I was intrigued and also in disbelief as I have pondered this thought once before and was told explicitly by my girlfriends father (Who works as a high ranking immigration officer in Phuket) that it wasn't possible .. Then followed the usual ''Why don't you just marry my daughter, or buy an elite visa? Why do you constantly just go to a different country for a few days then fly back in?'' ....   AAAAAAANNNNNYYYYWAAAYYYY

I asked how and where this was possible, he then pulled out his passport from his little Louis Vuitton man-bag and showed me a sticker for a 5 year VISA on Elite, and also a card which was the same thing. His answer was, 'you just have to know the right people' - I was immediately disinterested as this seemed like something that could wind up in trouble. I asked further if it was maybe due to the fact that he was half Thai by origin... To which he replied 'Some expats I met have done the same thing and did so way before I did' I was more intrigued now.. I asked if I could perhaps be referred to someone who can help me with this.. I then asked him the price to which he said ''It is 100,000 per year, but you MUST show at least 200,000 in a foreign account'' Now this I was something I could get on with better than paying a lump sum.

He gave me an email address, and I waited until I was home to talk to my girlfriend about it. I insisted she not tell her father... YET.

I received an email and some information about who the person was, and what they could offer me... I trusted my gut instinct and traveled to meet him, it was a Thai man who had close ties to SOMEONE because all that happened was we spoke for a while, signed some papers in Thai and English.. I was feeling good about the immigration stamps etc.. My girlfriend confirmed that the English translation was exact, she speaks FLUENT English to an American standard so I trusted her statement. I paid the 100,000 directly to a Thai bank account and left, then met up and went with him to Immigration dept to drop off my passport the next day.

3 days later I got a call asking me to come in to the immigration dept, I thought about EVERYTHING that could possibly go wrong, my heart was pounding as I opened the door to Immigration... Once I was inside I was called to a room and offered Coffee/Tea or whatever the heck else I wanted, they all proceeded to bow in my presence more than once and thanked me for my time, not before handing me back my passport with a sticker that literally had Gold on it. I must say, I am very happy with the outcome.

Do not ask me for his details.
