I am looking for  a second hand book store to give 3-4 bags of books away free. The one on Soi Bukhao seems so to have closed down as does the one on Soi Khao Noi called Star. Does anyone know, preferably on the dark side where I can offload them? don't want to throw them away.

Take the books to one of auction houses. You can make a few baht!

There is a second hand book store on Chaiphruek Road in Jomtien.  Canterbury Tales Bookstore, off of Soi Buakhao, I think is still operating, too.

Yes it is - Soi Chaiaphoon - or however it is spelt. Runs sort of parallel and next to Soi Excite. From Soi Buakhow Canterbury Tales is about 75 yards up on the left immediately  after Triangle bar.
