Hi

Could someone who has done this please confirm my understanding of the situation.

My gf has a 10 year US and a 10 year UK visa.

The passport which contains the visa expired this year and she got a new Thai passport (which is only valid for 5 years).

She went to the Passport Office and got the new passport stamped with something that said to the effect that “she previously had travelled on passport number XXXXXX and that it had been cancelled and returned to the holder, the visas duly affixed still remain valid”.

Does she have to do anything at the two Embassies or can she now just travel with both passports (old and new)?

Thanks

Hi, just wondering if anybody has done this recently and how.long did it take? It's been over a month since I applied for my daughter, they requested I send the thai birth certificate certified  (about 2 weeks ago) and haven't heard about nothing since. Panicking! Going to australia (hopefully) 5th September and still need to apply for passport. And on that topic, has anyone gotten about nothing passport earlier than the 3 weeks?

I know no one can tell me definitely, just have to play the waiting game, just desperately seeking reassurance I guess. Considering applying for tourist visa for baby but they don't know how that would affect the citizenship or whether it would be approved.

I know I should've started it all earlier before buying tickets,  but the family was pressuring to buy the tickets before I looked into it properly, thought we'd have plenty of time...

You might want to explain a bit more as to what passport, what country, for who as this thread was about use of US/UK visas in an expired Thai passport.

Thanks-so no need to do anything else.

Now all we have to do is get a multiple entry 5year (the max I think) for Schengen which is proving extremely difficult as VFS are so pedantic about having  hotel bookings and we want to travel around Europe in my camper van without any pre-planned route.(I have posted about this before and it certainly seems that in this area the UK is much more flexible? than the EU).
