A forty year old Thai man caught on social media pictures laying back on his motorcycling while tearing along public roads has given himself up to police.

He claimed the accelerator was stuck.

Thitisak "Noi" Nakdee was filmed going along Ratanathibet Road inbound on Thursday.

He was lying back on the bike with his feet up. His hands were on his ears rather than the handlebars.

He was going from side to side having the time of his life. Daily News said he was "sabai sabai" as he whizzed into town.

Ratanthibet police didn't see the funny side.

They found that the bike was registered to a woman called Saowapha and the rider on that day was her husband. They asked him to come in for a chat.

Yesterday he did and he was fined a few hundred baht for not wearing a helmet and negligent riding. The exact figure was not reported just the 400 - 1000 baht range.

Noi said the bike had had a problem with the accelerator and he had fixed it himself but not too well. It got stuck and he decided to enjoy himself on his way to work at Pratunam where he is a trader.

"There wasn't much traffic about," he said adding that he won't do it again.

Police confirmed that the bike had an accelerator problem and ordered that it be fixed.

They invited me for a chat yesterday at the little table they had set up by the side of the road. Friendly guys those cops.

Police are always inviting people in for a chat, how about getting off your %$#@ and arresting people.  This guy is a danger to all other road users and clearly doesn't give a second thought.  If the accelerator is stuck, stop the vehicle.

There's quite a few riders in Thailand that have their hands on their ears when the word 'safety' and 'helmet' are mentioned.

and yet..... assumedly the stuck accelerator became free in time for numbnuts here to slow down and stop at some point after these images were captured."... mmmm.

i think that this should at least merit a drug test.... and a full cavity search, so he can ... "enjoy himself".... ( from OP)
