Steaming sports game with internet: Best Internet service?

Featured Replies

We just moved into our new apartment in Jomtien and currently do not have internet. My wife and I enjoy watching sports games from the US, and we want to get an Internet connection that is fast enough to be able to watch games uninterrupted.

Of course foreigners need to pay a year up front. We were quoted 15,000 baht for a year for 200MB/second download speed and 100MB/second upload speed by 3bb company. The lower priced package is 7000 baht for a year for 30MB/second download and 10MB/second upload.

Is this a good company? Is the price fair? Should I buy the

15,000 baht package or would the 7000 baht package be good enough to watch games?

Is 3BB the only choice in your apartment block ?
Not that there is anything wrong with 3BB but its nice to have choice.
30Mbps down should be fast enough...you can always "upgrade" later but remember the speed they quote is only guaranteed from you to their server after that and especially for traffic in/out of the country speed can and often is significantly slower.

I can order any internet service I want;there are no restrictions. As my wife and I are both farangs, getting information on this is very difficult.

I used to be highly critical of TOT as I often had problems, we are restricted however to TOT.

Lately they've changed for some reason and now they've got a system where they

can check to see if you have a connection.

We had a slight problem Yesterday ( first time in a while) only lasted 10 minutes..

They rang this morning to say they were coming to replace my old router with a new one.

This was free of charge, my mate on the other hand has problems galore with his

provider which starts with a number and then two letters. I tell him now to

get TOT where I certainly wouldn't have at one time.

What is "best" depends many time on spesific address/condo..

Do ask around your neighbourgs/ staff what they use and if they are satisfied..

Not sure who told you you have to 12 months in advance. 3bb and CAT offer pay on line per month. True have pay by month tv packages.

There maybe a 12 month minimum contract but they dont normally ask for upfront payment. Whoever T.I.T anything is possible.
