Which is the better choice, location wise?

Featured Replies

Hi people

I'm tossing up between two condos in the Asok/Nana area.  One is Asoke Place in Asok Montri Rd, the other BT Residence on Sukhumvit Soi 8.  The facilities and price for each are about the same, so the main point of differentiation would be which has better access to Thai food, either local restaurants, markets or food courts.  Any thoughts?

If you're looking to be close to the (ahem) "nightlife" then soi 8 is better.

Asok is actually a much more central location for everything else BKK has to offer though. Especially because you're close to both the BTS and the MRT.

Both are good locations. There is an entrance to soi 8 to BTS. This is a premium.

Asoke location is a walk to MRT and a long walk to BTS and the traffic on Asoke, particularly heading north can be jammed like Jakarta traffic. Astounding traffic. Having said that, you can move in and out via Sukhumvit soi 15 and soi 23 particularly if on foot. So, it is not that bad if you really like to walk. Also, the Asoke location has the Uni nearby which has some open space, which is nice if you like that sort of thing

Soi 8 is better traffic wise, but since you don't really own a car, I would suggest whatever is closest to BTS. There are many thai restaurants in both locations.

"Asoke location is a walk to MRT and a long walk to BTS"  lol, they are at the same place, BTS above the MRT

Would not suggest getting anything until you walk the area.

Stay at a hotel and visit in person.

Renting long term sight unseen is a no-no in bkk.

if it's less then a month who cares.

not exactly.

his location referred to in Asoke is actually closer to Petchaburi MRT station than it is to Sukhumvit MRT station and BTS station.

Not really it is 550m to BTS and 750m to Petchaburi MRT.

Neither location is far from anywhere. It is only a 15 min walk between the two. One is near Nana , one is near Cowboy.

But there are pubs and restaurants on Soi 8 if one is lazy or infirm.

Depends on the building. If one has a pool?

Soi 8 is the better location by far. I live nearby too, so i guess we are now neighbours.
