  1. Maybe this would make them happy, and give Tesla & EVs a good review ...
  2. They really say anything now to disparage EVs ... too funny
  3. I'm surprised they sold so few at that price. When announced, I was keeping my eyes open for them, and haven't seen a one. As daughter was needing a new car, and that seemed better than their Celerio (get what you pay for) & Swift, (overpriced styling), so thought maybe a boring salon at that price might be a decent value. Still yet to see one. Posted earlier, she peeked at the BYD Dolphin but wasn't impressed, and ordered an Atto 3 instead. Doing some peeking, and seems a couple countries have discontinued making the Ciaz. Maybe Suzuki TH is just getting rid of stock. Suzuki departed China Indonesia ... "Due to poor sales, Suzuki stopped sending Ciaz to dealers since December 2017." Philippines ... "In March 2022, the Ciaz was discontinued" You really have to look under the hood now of days, as legacy dealers may not be what you expected. Toyota & Suzuki have a very close relationship, unfortunately for Suzuki, as their BEV was Toyota's 'wheels falling off' model, hopefully rectified. "Toyota Belta The Indian-made Ciaz has been sold under Toyota badge as the Toyota Belta in African countries such as Egypt since November 2021. The "Belta" nameplate was previously used for the Japanese domestic market XP90 Toyota Yaris sedan/Vios"
  4. April 2024 ... Average ~33kWh per day, w/high of 46.8kwh used April 2nd 988kWh = ฿4475 PEA bill
  5. Guessing he wasn't the exemplary prisoner, maybe a few fights with other prisoners and or guards, squashing any chance of getting paroled. It's pretty bad when your father pressed charges or testifies against you. 21 convictions prior, and they're just the ones was caught committing, and they had enough evidence to convict. Seems to read as a bit of a violent predator type.
  6. No, as they are not very comfortable, unless extremely modified. Plus add a whole new driving physics, although some shade would be nice. I've considered adding one to the scooter a few times. Would only do if it had a quick release for easy removal for when not brutally sunny out. We just take the car, as parking isn't that big an issue where we live. Although a saleng would defeat the purpose, almost, of taking the scooter.
  7. ... "he was convicted of grievous bodily harm and handed an imprisonment for public protection (IPP) sentence—a sentence with a minimum term but no end date" That not self explanatory enough ? Along with more than a few details left out... "In 2003, Rider was jailed for assaulting their father. He was later released and, Mahon says, went on to clean his life up and find a girlfriend. But in 2005, while still on licence for the earlier offence, he was arrested again after assaulting a colleague and given an IPP sentence with a minimum tariff of 23 months. Mahon, a nurse from Durham from whom he was estranged, only found out he was serving an IPP sentence after he died. She said she had never heard of them before and was stunned that it meant the length of his punishment lay in the hands of a parole board rather than a judge. She is now campaigning for the cases of all IPP prisoners to be reviewed. “I do not condone what Scott has done. In 17 years, he committed 47 offences and was convicted of 22. But I think these sentences are inhumane and they need to be abolished. To get a 23-month sentence and serve 17 years… how can they justify it?” Mahon said." (source) Not exactly someone I want walking around in society. Convicted of 22 crimes, in 17 years, more than one a year. Career criminal comes to mind, with 2 violent assaults, last one while on 'license' for assault, and then commits another. I guess the first 21 conviction didn't teach him anything. And sis now a crusader, though I'm getting the impression, she distanced herself from him (estranged) , as didn't even know he was sentenced 'IPP'. Guess she didn't visit much. Not much hope when your family abandons you. Big surprised he off'd himself I love this part .... "Rider’s sister said that the sentence robbed her brother “of the chance to have a family and the chance to turn his life around”. Actually, he got 21 chance, but simply chose to ignore them How about a story about the guy in jail, apparently forever, for stealing a phone. What's up with that ?. That might actually be a story.
  8. @Negita43 As suggest, you should get a HbA1c, and more accurate than FSB/Glucose test. It measures blood sugar over a 3 month period. I'm actually do for one 21st of May. As my FSB 'blood test' is usually on the outside, and past the high end of normal. Most resent HbA1c test done a couple months ago, and on the high end 'within normal'. Here's something that may interest you. This test what, when & how to eat foods, and monitors the blood spike. Quite interesting and informative. By adjusting the what, when & how (sequence & combination) of food, you can limit your spikes. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61553010733451 From the HbA1c link above:
  9. Too funny & sad, any intelligent person would state this ... "Increasing sea temperatures have resulted in unusually low tides and high sunlight intensity, consequently causing widespread coral bleaching."
  10. I agree, and thought that way myself, till I priced the Vios & Mazda 2 here, vs USA, and both cheaper there/USA, along with needing more to be certified emissions worthy. Considering the cost all around more in USA; wages, taxes, utilities, everything across the board, but yet, a better product (assuming) but cheaper. Quite surprised me. As I couldn't imagine either one of those 'made in TH' POS being sold in USA. Take away the TH excise tax, and they might be the same price, but still inferior.
  11. Couldn't find average H / L, but average temp is less now than few decades ago. Now ... Then ... 84.7F
  12. And yet, they look almost identical to me ... Nor has the average high changed in 40-70 years, all of 0.7°F You do have to consider, there's a lot more concrete and buildings, holding and radiating temps, so without those, and ambient air, might even be less. Maybe do comparison elsewhere in TH, that hasn't changed as much.
  13. We're light weights compared to you guys, as we've only hit 50kwh, barely, for the day, a few times. And only broke 1000kWh for the month, maybe 2X, and probably will this month. Though a few months, we were O&A 10 ish days. it would be rare that we'd break 1000kWh a month consistently.
  14. Doubt if they need stricter (not knowing them) laws but probably just enforcement of. Corruption rules, and no different anywhere in the world. I actually have first hand knowledge of how that works. Friend's father use to manage a landfill, outside Philadelphia, PA, USA. Toxic stuff used to come in, as transfer point, but never left. There were fires a couple times month, and his father & crew used to fight & put them out. Yep, he did of cancer a bit prematurely. Owner of dump was a multi millionaire, and connected to politicians. Everyone knew, nobody cares, as long as they got their cut. They use to board horse there, which was cool, as we had access and use to go riding all the time at the wildlife preserve next door. Even after the EPA supposedly shut it down, it still operated. Don't drink the water, or even smoke near it ...
  15. So, same as last year, down here @ PKK. I wouldn't be surprised if that holds for the future, as weather patterns do shift with time. Also means, we had rain later in the year, than years before. The amount or, and months/weeks of rain hasn't changed, that I notice. Farmers may have a better handle on that.
  16. @Furioso to add to that, after our first year with our EV, I calculated a <5% degradation at the end of the 8 year warranty.
  17. That mirrors our life here, and what my thoughts on living in USA would have been. Though not rusting trailer surfside or desert, maybe in the hills of one of the Carolinas or even FL. Piece of ground & nice double wide, or real house. Cheap away from metro areas. Yes, better spent here, and also mirrors our 'income', now SS - $2302 w/pittance of pension $357 (no adjustment). Nice oops funds, liquidated there (hindsight, not sure if best idea, but done), and RE investing here, paying for our housing & transport. Have to chuckle when a few AN members imply 'I'm rich', as we live on our income. Oops fund is for just that ... oops, and haven't needed to touch. So retirement for wife & kid will be better, long after I'm gone. I just seem to manage my finances better than some. Always came easy to me, as I'm practical, most times. If you can own all out right, a very comfy living. If renting, not too bad at all, and still very comfy, location & lifestyle dependent. Being a non Alky helps. Only ????? is healthcare. Medicare is not cheap, considering extra cost of Plan B, and deductibles on silly priced everything. So doesn't amount to much, when 'out of pocket' when needed here, has been much cheaper for 'my' same expenses or what have been in the USA, and that's if having insurance. RE Taxes & healthcare really is the budget killer if living in the USA. I'm a broken record on that, but if fairly healthy, a lower COL country is the way to go. Whether bringing enough to 'buy in' or rent. Hindsight for myself ... didn't liquidate, and bought more houses for Section 8, since USA is going full on socialism. If owning all, I haven't touched my SS yet this year, although only 1 long O&A, so that will change in a month or so, and just living on that crap pension, and sold some gold, which haven't touched that yet either. Mind boggling how low our expenses are, and don't deny ourselves anything.
  18. @ExpatOilWorker On that, batteries, you do have to keep them charged up, and in the proper rotation, along with not drained to far, or charged up too for, for longer non use. Good heads up, topping some up today:
  19. What ever the market will allow. I guess people drive less in UK, as battery is 8 yrs / 150k kms, vs TH's 180k kms. We got 5 yr on 2022, and it did change to 4 yrs in 2023. Apparently back to 5 years again. Least of Thai auto buyer's issues, as the domestic excise/sales tax is about 27% of the vehicle price, for the 1.5 ICEV.
  20. Solar panel are more efficient, if having ventilation under them, or so I've read.
  21. I can be costly and time consuming to get on the payback system of PEA/MEA. At present, they aren't giving you much for your electric. Along with having to use their approved components/inverters, which people may or may not have. We don't, as Deye 8kW isn't, although the 5kW is on their approved list. Which is not enough to run our house. Only the 10kW is approved for 3 phase, which we don't really need or want. If we had two 5kw inverters instead of the 8kW inverter, then I wouldn't bother being connected to the grid. Having redundancy, just incase one has an oops. No worries for ฿27 a month to be connected, it seems silly not to be. Besides, there is the rare time, that I'll use the wall charger for the car (7.4kWh), which the solar system couldn't handle. I just hate monopolies, and have no real need for PEA, or petrol stations. The feeling of independence is pretty cool also
  22. You should probably read the articles instead of the headliners ...
  23. I read that completely different. States are passing laws to protect males & females while using the bathrooms, along with keeping sporting events fair. Also ensuring that people aren't prosecuted for hate crimes for using improper English when talking, addressing another person/snowflake. Putting children's upbringing back into the hands of the parents, who brought them into the world, till they reach adulthood, and considered mature enough to make decisions for themselves. Vote to change or move ... oh wait, the law states you aren't old or mature enough to vote, but feel free to decide your gender & alter your body chemistry.
