Really ... and who would that be. If you can do all your local driving, and exploring on the battery of a PHEV, I'd consider that an EV. If I had one, unless going O&A, non locally, I'd never need the ICE part, as everything needed is within 5 kms of house, and a radius of 35-50 kms would meet any thing else wanted. And I live in Nakhon Nowhere compared to urban living. Not so sure I'd consider the HEVs an EV, with their 1-3kWh battery. EVs in TH ... TH not even on you graph .. 🙄

What is needed to renew two year drivers license at Pranburi
KhunLA replied to kiwikeith's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
What other documents do they require ? If you remember or jotted down. TIA I guess it makes sense, if you passed the written test already, doesn't make sense to take it again. -
Latest carmaker to scale back its EV ambitions amid slowing sales
KhunLA replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
2.5 yrs later, and this is what you came back with, even after it's pointed out, all of what you state is wrong, especially in reference to Thailand. ... actually same price or cheaper for better specs ... very low maintenance cost ... LFP battery will last longer than the car ... plenty of CSs in TH. Most people charge at home, and don't go O&A that much to be concerned. Been around the whole country, a few times, with our BEV, never a problem charging. Experience over hearsay ... -
As I stated, they fluctuate ... I'll wait till YOY #s in Jan 2024. Especially since 2023 was a big year for sales. Now with price cuts, people are being a bit slower buying. If the numbers only increase a bit, or stay level, that's stating a lot, especially since ICEV #s are dropping & losing market share. ... I think, again, talk to me in Jan 2025 Legacy auto makers slowing production, even closing and or consolidating factories.

Simply reacting to your repetitive silly posts of (false) declining EV sales. Open your eyes, as I see more and more BEVs every day on the roads and in the parking lots, here in TH. When O&A, I'm not longer the only at the CSs any more. Take the blinders off. You really don't need stats to see the truth. Do numbers fluctuate month to month, with economics, yes, but YOY numbers, seem to be up every year. Proved numerous times, and simply ignored by you.

Do you want President Harris to pardon Trump?
KhunLA replied to earlinclaifornia's topic in Political Soapbox
Explaining the legal system is not defending anyone. The beauty of USA, innocent till proven guilty, with appeal process to make sure any conviction was legal. Only the final appeal decision matters, not the prosecution in the press -
Why ? EVs in TH ... feel free to add some substance to the topic at any time

Do you want President Harris to pardon Trump?
KhunLA replied to earlinclaifornia's topic in Political Soapbox
Why would Trump need a pardon, or even a commutation of sentence (jail) since not sentences for anything yet, and doubtful jail time will be in any sentence. If so, on indefinite appeal till it gets to the SCOTUS. Just another bash Trump thread ... If there was only a safe & effective vaccine for that syndrome- 132 replies

Shipping an E bike from UK to Thailand.
KhunLA replied to Asquith Production's topic in Motorcycles in Thailand
Good luck with that, especially if a few years old, as they discontinue, change and upgrade things for a reason, to keep you buying new. Been there, done that, and don't buy proprietary things for a reason any more. When I do buy something, I buy extra batteries, from the maker, just for that reason. Had to retire too many electronics in the past, because of batteries unavailable. And buying clone batteries can be a challenge to find, and quality substandard. Why I suggested earlier, if he keeps and ships it over, get another battery while at it, as you won't find it in Thailand when needed. If the maker discontinued the line, then sell it, and buy all new here/TH. -
I'm guessing most AN members are NOT in TH. More like very few, especially some of the most vocal members. IMHO

EV Owners … Real life experience & help thread
KhunLA replied to KhunLA's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Did another battery equalization, from 18% to 100% Slow charging @ 7.4kWh But, for some reason, stop charging @ 40% for about an hour, as I didn't notice. Going to guess that affected slightly in a negative way, if at all. Results were, according to the car, ranges when new @ 100% & now, Along with what the pea meter finished & started at, kWh used... At the 14 month period & equalization, was only 0.6%, so considerably more, or one or both, were a bit flawed. But, ballpark enough for me. So end of battery warranty, 8 yrs, maybe about 10% degradation +/- May Equalize it again in another 7 months, as CATL does recommend a couple times a year. We've only done it twice. NOTE: ... WLTP range rating is 320, car in ECO mode is 360 -

KhunLA replied to Asquith Production's topic in Motorcycles in Thailand
Battery specs wouldn't be the problem, but the connection definitely will be, if this is their standard battery. Very proprietary connection. I had not problem swapping to XT60 connections to the controller, on my DIY ebike, from a generic battery I bought. This would be a challenge ... -
Hybrid vs Turbo petrol new car choice.
KhunLA replied to Pattaya420's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Whoa ... for this price ฿1.23 Million, if accurate, you really need to go test drive some BEVs, before splashing out that amount. I'll just leave at that, especially if performance is something you want, aside from the other advantages. -

Leftover (didn't get around to it) from 7-11 w/egg added. Damn tasty and my 'go to' when stumped for choice on the road. Recommend for those that like Gra Pao, but not a fan of rice.

Ford Focus is basically a Mazda, so IF buying, just get the Mazda. Saying that, our daughter just got rid of her Mazda (POS), having less than 200k kms on it, and was happy to get 70k baht for it. Why not buy something you won't have to worry about her being stranded with. What are you driving now ? Can she not learn on that ? Not a Suzuki fan, but there Ciaz is <400k baht. Personally I'd go with BEV / Neta V, for a wee bit more. If trying to keep the budget down, till she learns and gets done putting a few dings on the car, then just get the cheapest thing available that has <100k kms on the clock. Quick peek on FB Marketplace, locally, and here's a nice small car to learn on. 110k kms and for pocket change. Something like that would be a good choice to ding up a bit the first year learning. The daughter's Mazda was ours first, gave to her, and first year I think she put a ding on all 4 corners Now experienced, she picked up a Atto 3 👍

2.5 yr old post, and as inaccurate as it was then, it's even more so now. Why would you even quote & comment on such ? Never mind ... 🙄

Don't think anyone cares 'who' you are, but 'what' you are. Still living under that bridge and not accepting your multiple personality disorder. Get mom to make you some chocolate chip cookies w/milk, and you'll be right as rain.

I used this guys recommendation. He was a Blade One fan, and compared the 2. Seemed to like the DuraBlade, though also skeptical of the blade life warranty, which is BS. iF in USA, they will replace, but it would cost me more to ship to/from, than simply buying new blades heads when on sale.

For 'base price' the dealer might give you, just look at your full insurance value coverage. 3 cars sold, and that was about what we got. Two sold to 2nd hand vendor, think we got 10-15% over insured price. Better price that would I'd expect now. One sold private, during covid, and got just a tad over insured price. Then as is now, it's a buyer's market.
