September 6, 20178 yr Up above a main door. Apparently there's an aircon unit up there above the outside wall. Whatcha reckon, water damage from the aircon? Besides getting the problem sorted, a bit of a clean up and replaster?
September 6, 20178 yr Cut the old board away in a neat square then leave to air and dry for a week or more. Place new boards in nice and tidy then just tape and joint it, if you take your time with the jointing there will be very little sanding if any before paintingOutside ceilings just use cement board, if the cement patch is not too big you can buy premix exterior filler and build it up in layersSent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
September 6, 20178 yr Author Interesting, thanks. Apparently the aircon unit doesn't have a pipe that drains the water, they hoped it would evaporate. :D I guess that wasn't the case haha
September 6, 20178 yr Task A once you've opened up the ceiling is, of course, to sort the source of the water. Then proceed as per post #2. "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"
September 6, 20178 yr Unless you have them fix the drain on the aircon that is upstairs, I would not do anything other than sit back and enjoy a cold one because anything that you do will be futile!
