I am a British resident in BKK.

If I obtain  a tourist Visa from the Cambodian embassy in Bangkok does any know if it will be accepted at the Chong Chom border crossing and enter with no problems into Cambodia ?

Not a problem. But be aware the Khmer Immigration at Chong Chom have a habit of stiffing foreigners for tea money.

^ +1, why waste going to the Cambodian Embassy when you can get a 30 day visa at the Border.

Costs THB 1500 but cheaper if you pay in USD.

And as @gotlost said beware of the asking for Tea Money.

Here my Cambodia Visa on Arrival  at Chong Chom (O'smach as it's called in Cambodia) last time I went to Siem Reap.

I assume you are aware that you can get 30 day visa on arrival when you enter Cambodia at a border crossing.

Its the same visa he will get at the Cambodian Embassy in Bangkok. This crossing will try to sting him for 1100 to 1500 baht.

did the crossing on the 27th August and can confirm I was stung for 1500 baht and the issuing officer blatantly pealed off the 500 baht tea money and put it in his own pocket in front of me, but what are you going to do!

Many thanks for the replies seems a better bet to get in BKK as I pass the Embassy every day to pick my son up from school

As they say Up 2 you  But don't be surprised if you still have to pay money to get in even with a Pre-Paid visa from BKK :whistling:
