Garbage Truck not picking up my Trash?

Featured Replies

I live in a gated community in East Pattaya.

For the past 2 weeks the garbage truck has not taken my trash? They are taking everyone else's trash.

My trash can looks the same as everyone else's. What could be going on here? Constructive advice appreciated.

Also if I need to report this how do I do so?

This is a private firm hired by community?  You have paid your fees?  Your trash is packed as required by your provider.  You have asked them?  Even government trash collection requires payment of fees.

Sometimes you have to buy specific black garbage bags which have a logo printed on them. If you just buy regular ones from a supermarket then they won't take them. Have a look at the bags that other people put out.

I will call the owner and ask strange.

I would pretty much guarantee that your landlord hasn't paid any fees and is getting black-listed. The same happened to us in our rental for a brief period when they stopped doing the clean-up, leaf-sweeping front of our house. Called the agent who confirmed that the landlord was fully paid up and found out it was because the house next door wasn't paid up. Apparently the (lazy) street sweeper lumped both homes together (2 houses on short cul-de-sac). She made a few phone calls and normal service was restored... for us anyway.

If your landlord drags his/her feet, you may have to arrange for a one-time payment to get your backlog of garbage lifted and if the landlord is a total deadbeat, find out what the fees are and pay them yourself... and deduct from your rent accordingly.

Instructing the garbage truck to not pick up a residents garbage was the only recourse we had against a non-paying maintenance resident. They now have to dispose of their own rubbish.

When I put some tree/bush branches in it then they will not emptied it ... Maybe that's the case?

Indeed such trash would require extra payment direct to truck as a private service if they will take at all.

I live in a cul-de-sac and at one time all the other houses (3) were unoccupied.

We had trouble with dogs tearing the black sacks open in the night so we waited until the bin-men were close before we put them out.

Often the bin-men did not come to pick up the rubbish and when asked "why?" they said they did not see any rubbish to collect!

We do not get that trouble now but we still sometimes do not get the bins emptied on time!

We have a soi at the back of us and we see or hear the bin lorry collect rubbish once or even twice a week but not come into our village!

We are pretty sure this is because our "management" has not paid the council bill !!

Try to get a Thai speaker to ask the bin-men why they do not collect your rubbish.
