There is a possibility that we will be selling the house and circumstances will most likely mean finding homes for our dogs.

One of them is no problem at all and will settle with anyone who feeds her and looks after her, big soft love me love me dog.

The other is a different dog altogether and has no time for anyone else apart from my wife, me and the other dog.

She will not let anyone else near or touch her without snapping and being generally aggressive.

One thought was finding a home where she would be a premises dog ie a sort of guard dog inside a good sized area. An expat who has an area to be looked after but doesn't want any real dog contact apart from feeding and watering the dog daily sort of thing. She is not a big dog but for sure has a big dog attitude.

Some people have suggested dropping of at a temple etc but I don't want to add to the stray dog population anywhere and my wife wouldn't do that anyway.

All sensible replies will be read so please don't post on the lines off 'get it put down' just abandon it etc.

What sort of dog is it? There is only a handful of breeds that are so 'naturally' aggressive and will really struggle with re-homing. So if it is unsociable due to it being a product of the environment or a health issue, it will take some work (but by no means impossible) to get to a standard most people would accept. Unfortunately, not a whole lot of people are in a position to take that work on though.

Dropping it off at a temple would not only be adding to the stray population but also, by the sounds of it, adding risk of getting bitten to the community. Not to mention the poor quality of life the dog would have (i.e fleas, ticks, infections, poor diet, joint problems, hit by car, dog fights, kicked by monks and locals, chronic illnesses, the list goes on).

The Mrs family or friends can't take it on? Everyone should have a plan for their dogs if unforeseen circumstances come up.

Standard thai dog taken in from the wild at only a few weeks old. Not a large aggressive dog .

No heath problems, probably the healthiest dog I've owned.

I/we can give her her food bowl, stroke her while she's eating, pick up the bowl half way through and and she stands and waits until we give it back.

No one else could go near her while she is eating.

We have a big pack of dogs.

Also a few difficult ones, and agressive ones to strangers/visitors.

I am wondering, how is your dog towards other dogs? If that is OK I can probably help you out. Where are you located?

Arjen.

To be honest her problem may be that she has never had contact with any other dogs. Probably our fault but always had the worry of ticks mange etc etc. Lost a GSD to tick blood poisoning and it was very upsetting to sit with him when he went. Since,  I have probably isolated the dogs too much.

As an aside is there a dog whisperer out there?

We are "known" in our neigborhood for rescuing dogs. What results in dogs been throwing over our fence. Sometimes 6-8 at a time. Packed in a bag. Usual far to young (three weeks) It turns out that these not socialised dogs are difficult to deal with. So now we spread the news we kill all these dogs and eat them, and they taste good.

This is not truth, but we can not have 6-8 more dogs in a week....

I (we) are sure no dog whisperes. But we can deal with most dogs, even agrressive ones never have been a problem to us. From all our dogs we can take the food, we can disallow them to start eating, and they obey. I can not say they really listen to us. Although, all know their name.

Arjen.

Sent you a PM.

My dog would be too tough to eat.  ?????
