Hi all.

I want to buy a new Asus Zenphone in BKK, for less than $100. Where do I go?

Ive always liked Fortune Town but I don't know if thats the best place to buy.  If you can refer a reliable seller, all the better!

Thanks

If you want to look, touch, buy and carry it away with you, then Fortune Town is the best place, with excellent selection and good prices. If you don't need to physically touch the phone and can wait for a few days for delivery, Lazada will give you a lower price. And the Asus factory repair shop is a few hundred meters from Fortune Town, so after purchase warranty repair is close and easy. Excellent information can be found on YouTube, including box opening videos and reviews, so that the "hands on" experience isn't really necessary, but many people still want the "bonding experience" before they buy. I need that with a new car purchase. But for a phone, I am happy to have Lazada deliver it to my door in a box without having touched it in advance.

There was a time when ASUS had at least a service counter inside Fortune Town. But as I discovered recently when I went looking for a replacement battery for an ASUS Zenfone, the service function is now located in a nondescript office building on Rama 9 Road, a few blocks down and around the corner from the Central Rama 9 Mall.

The ASUS service center is located on the ground floor of the Chamnan Phenjati Business Centre, which can be searched and found in Google Maps. But basically, if you take the MRT to Central Rama 9, exit out on the ground/street level of Ratchadapisek Road fronting the mall, turn left and walk a block to the corner of Rama 9 where the raised roadway is, then turn left again toward the back of the mall and walk about 3 blocks down Rama 9 to the location.

As best as I can see, there's no visible exterior signage on the front of the building saying the ASUS service center is inside. But it's there, and this is what the exterior of the building looks like from the sidewalk along Rama 9. Once you get there, you walk into the driveway and toward the rear of the building about 100 meters before you arrive at a ground floor entrance, and the ASUS center is to the left on the ground floor once you enter.

BTW, although it was hard to find anywhere else, I was able to order a replacement battery for my ASUS Zenfone Laser 2. They didn't have any in stock, but ordered from either China or Taiwan, and I was able to pick up the new OEM battery in about two weeks. They called and sent an SMS once the battery arrived for pickup. Price was about 250b all in.
