Getting a Schengen Visa in Chiang Mai for a Thai..?

Hi...

I don’t want to go to BBK (ever) if I can avoid it.

But I’m thinking of a European Tourist Visa for my Thai partner.

Can anyone with the experience tell me if there is a full visa issuing consulate in Chiang Mai from any Schengen country...?

Eventually want to get to France but Holland or Germany....or anywhere really would be ok....so long as it Schengen.

Any assistance always appreciated as usual...

We went through Star Visa & they made it pretty painless, quick as well....

My wife did have to go to BKK for an interview - flew out in the morning & back in the afternoon....They had somebody at the building to walk guide her through.....She grabbed a taxi from/to the airport....

Travel insurance was needed & they handled that too....

They can package the trip too, but we opted for our own arrangements.....

Thank you Khwaibah.....

Someone told me that the Chiang Mai French Consul doesn’t issue visas and that you still have to go to Bangcoq....?

So that French consul may not be right for me...

I’m looking for a consul here in CM who will do the interview and issue the tourist visa...

So far I’ve had the German one only confirmed by a Thai Visa member...

Most of those countries use the same building in BKK....Ours was for France but the rep said this one place was used as essentially the clearing house/centralized screenings for the EU visas......

I was told last year when my wife was getting her first schengen that due to the new biometric screening (fingerprints, facial recognition scanning) that her first one needs that, however after that shes in the database. I dont know thats true but thats how the portugese consul explained it.

So the rules for who can and who cannot get a visa in chiang mai may be inconsistent depending on if that is done, or if the consul up here has that kit.

She will be needing another one in a couple of months and Germany is on our itinerary, so curious how that goes.

mikey88 did you get any positive results for the visa without the need to travel to BKK?

Sorry for the delay....no I didn’t.

i shelved the idea and #tarted searching for countries Thais can visit easily.....we really only want a holiday.

Europe will have to do without us.
