Police under-perform in underwear theft: complainant

The owner of rented rooms in Maharasakham’s Mueang district on Friday called on police to speed up their investigation and arrest a man who has been stealing underwear belonging to his female tenants.

 

Somprasong Sathipchan said his rented rooms have been hit by three underwear thefts during the past three months.

Footage of security camera showed a man walking and calmly choosing underwear from an assortment on clotheshangers outside the rented rooms.

 

"He did it like he was shopping in shopping mall, " Somprasong said.

 

He said the police failure to arrest the thief has scared many of his female tenants, causing them to stop renting his rooms.
