webfact Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 Aussie man relieved of 300,000 baht necklace after Pattaya roadside embrace Picture: Pattaya News A 54 year old Australian man went to Pattaya police after a Thai woman stole his gold necklace that he valued at 300,000 baht. Christian Bart (name transliterated from Thai) told the investigating officer that he was driving a motorcycle around in the early hours and stopped outside a hotel in Soi 2 of Sai 2 in North Pattaya. A woman came up and started touching him up and cuddling him, he said, trying to make him feel drowsy. She left the scene before he realized his white gold necklace had been removed. Police are studying CCTV in the area to try to get a lead in the case, reported Pattaya News. Source: Pattaya News -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2018-01-11
colinneil Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 Who in their right mind go around Pattaya wearing a 300.000 baht necklace? He valued it at 300.000, probably trying to claim more than it is worth.
Peterw42 Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 A $12,000 AU necklace, sounds legit. Maybe the headline should read, "Aussie man finds novel way to fund Thai holiday"
Ralf61 Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 Why do they always fondle their smartphones whilst making a complaint?

worgeordie Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 "trying to make him feel drowsy.", a lady of the night fondling me, does not make me feel drowsy, just the opposite. regards worgeordie
Gunna Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 It looks like a European passport on the desk ( definitely not an Australian one as wrong colour ) so he may actually be Austrian - Or an Australian travelling on an EU passport, but unlikely for Thailand.

Probably those who can afford such a necklace, but for sure not those who are green of envy to those who are better off. Which group you belong to?
petermik Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 He must have been feeling lonely and looking for some company to cheer him up poor chap........

People with "real" wealth rarely need show it...its the "bling" wearers that try to give the impression of wealth when in fact they usually have little.....and that goes for common sense also...

Yes, certainly an Austrian passport. This is an older Version. The newer ones have this special EU wine-red colour:
scubascuba3 Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 Survival of the fittest, you've got to be a certain type of bozo to wear gold
Araiwah Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 Anyone stupid enough to spend over 6000 GBP on a necklace and actually wear it deserves to have it ripped from his neck. I sense he's telling porkies.
Lupatria Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 Wonder how this fool managed to remove the word "VICTIM" tattooed to his forehead so fast.
mstevens Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 I wonder if in the next 24 hours a subsequent report will say that police studied CCTV but could find no evidence of the crime....

gandalf12 Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 The necklace / chain whatever would weigh about 15 baht if just gold. Do we really believe that,

That aside, if he did try to make a fraudulent claim for it he'd have to justify the value; insurance companies don't just pay what you ask for without making checks.

ChrisY1 Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 Didn't know they have 15 baht weight gold chains.......and if he bought it Oz....then it likely only 14 carat.
HLover Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 Mr. 'Bart' can always get a some new bling to show off his wealth to the hiso residents of Pattaya; this subtle accessory even is patterned after his name.
