January 19, 200719 yr It's just one of the many shortcomings of our world today. Kind acts and good people are NOT newsworthy.
January 19, 200719 yr It is a touching story and a great photo... as Gary says, not often you get to hear good news. However, not Thailand-related so I'll move this out of General into the Pub section. /Moved. Taoism: shit happens Buddhism: if shit happens, it isn't really shit Islam: if shit happens, it is the will of Allah Catholicism: if shit happens, you deserve it Judaism: why does this shit always happen to us? Atheism: I don't believe this shit
January 19, 200719 yr Beg to differ, JaiDee. Think this should be in family, not pubs and entertainment...
January 19, 200719 yr It's just one of the many shortcomings of our world today. Kind acts and good people are NOT newsworthy. I don't know if it is newsworth when one country rape another, killing 100s of thousand inocent people, one child also lost their parents due to that and than there is one nice guy who takes care of it. Newsworth would be if relatives of every inocent dead would get 1 Mill USD compensation from USA

January 19, 200719 yr The guy is probably a decent guy. I'm sure you could find evil people cuddling babies as well. Pictures don't tell a thousand words as they say but we should hope the the good we see is real. Anyway, there are probably foul and decent people on both sides of the fighting in Iraq. One thing is for sure, if the war had never happened the girl probably wouldn't have lost her parents or have been shot in the head. I believe a lot is owed to the innocent victims of the war. I also believe that politicians should not be allowed to benefit from actions like this. George Bush and some other probably should go to jail for creating the pain and suffering they have. They'll retire and live comfortable with their fat pensions and profitable investments while others will live with pain for the rest of their lives. Presidents and Prime ministers should accept menial pensions equal to that of the average citizen from their countries once they leave office, be outlawed from investing any money anywhere once they take office and after they leave, be forbidden from taking paid positions after leaving office, and lots more.
January 19, 200719 yr What a nice picture to come out of a horiffic "war". I commend the guy. He's doing something outside of his obligations to help another human being achieve some form of comfort. The world should have more people like that.

January 19, 200719 yr It is a lovely picture, but I am a bit confused about the title - involved in what way?

January 19, 200719 yr Author You can read more information on this picture on the following link if your interested: It is a sad world: And the term I used are you involved I meant are you in Iraq I was trying to be Diplomatic and not place to much information about location etc http://www.snopes.com/photos/military/gebhardt.asp
January 20, 200719 yr It's good to see a good deed, but hundreds of thousands of orphans in Iraq also deserve to be treated well after the horrific carnage they have witnessed and been subjected to. There is no justification for killing innocent civilians.
