Hi everyone! I’m Lea, I come from France and I’m looking for a job in Chiang Mai to settle in here. I’m a speech therapist and I love my job!!! I’ve been working in France and in Belgium in private practice with adults and children with various pathologies and also in day care centre for adults with brain injuries and in different places with children and adults who have autism spectrum disorders.

Please contact me if you have any suggestion to find a job here (in the field of therapy or even else) if you‘re interested by my profile or if you know about therapy’s field in Chiang Mai. Thank you!

Merci !

Never mind the WP, the language barrier should be a main concern

unless of course, the lady is fluent in the local language and dialects....

If you can do speech therapy for English language, there is a need for your services here. Contact CMIS and the other international schools. They often need qualified therapists and rarely have them.

Frankly most of the posters on TV have little knowledge about the need for speech therapists in CM. About 3 years ago I spent a lot of time looking for a therapist and the schools said they were in need too.

I agree. Don't listen to the negative old geezers on here. There are plenty of opportunities for farangs. You should take a crash course in Thai language though. Enough to learn some basic phrases.

Good luck!

I agree too. I have known several mixed families whose kids need some help when they are young to sort out the multiple languages and environments they travel among. If I were in your position, I would approach all of the international schools and see if I could put together referrals or part-time gigs at more than one. Good luck, I'm sure you can help many people. A school that recognizes your skill might be able to help with paperwork. Good luck!

Be patient, you may need to talk with many people. Some staff may not know of needs that others are well aware of but have never found a qualified therapist to help them with. There are Thai kids with English pronunciation problems in English language programs.
