A high profile meeting of police and the airport director was held at Bangkok's main airport yesterday after an incident of theft from passengers' loaded baggage.

Deputy chief of the national police Pol Gen Wirachai Songmetta met with Suvarnabhumi director Sirot Duangrat.

Following a meeting the deputy chief was taken on a tour of inspection of the baggage handling and sorting areas.

Measures were discussed to improve the practices at the airport including better screening of baggage staff to weed out potential thieves.

In one theft recently a Thai Rath reporter returning to Bangkok from Samui had cash and gold stolen from loaded luggage.

Perfect opportunity to boost their influential image for the International community aka kiss A*******

My real concern is not what they take out of luggage but what drugs they can put in? Next time at Thai airport if asked" did you pack your bag"  My answer will be, " yes plus I think a baggage handler at this airport also packed it!"

A person would think a reporter would have enough common sense to know not to pack cash and gold in checked baggage.
