Motorbike taxis in Khon Kaen?

Featured Replies

A friend is visiting there and says there aren't any.  Tuk tuks, yes but very few to no motorbikes?  Does anyone know why?  Or is my friend just in the wrong part of town?

No one?

All I can tell:

I occasionally visit the city and can't  remember having seen regular motorbike taxis.

No motorbike stands etc.

Why? No idea.

With the ever increasing congestion they would be useful.

I have only seen them at the bus station here in Ubon as far as I can recall and perhaps at the train station. It might be the same in KK.

I know of 2 spots with numbered orange vest motor bike taxis:

Mittraphap front of Central and the Family Mart just south of the old train station on Tanon Ban Kok.

Taxis cheaper than tuk tuks in KhonKaen

There is one girl who drives around KK on her motorbike, but she offers the ALL Inclusive Ride

Outside of Bangkok basically everybody has a motorbike, so there is nearly no demand for motorbike taxis.

In Udon Thani you can also find motorbike taxis just at the bus station, even other crowded places don't have motorbike taxis.

I'll lookout for them next time.
