Missed watching the match live - thank god!

Quick Wenger - better join the club and announce that Arsenal have no chance of winning the title. Seems to work.

I'll happily send you a video Santi!

Since the match, the mighty (cheap but carp when it comes to programming and replays) CTH has deigned to show the match again:

* Not once yesterday

* At 2am this morning

* At 11pm tonight

Prats!

Even watching us getting thrashed would be more enthralling than watching Spuds v Everton last night Smokiethumbsup.gif

Another witless first half performance. Not needing a fourth gear is all very well against bottom half clubs like our December/January opposition. Not having a fourth gear shows up when playing top half.

Going to be a struggle to hold better than fourth at this rate.

I doubt it Stevie (but then you probably did to!):

  • Wenger won't want to get to the end of February effectively out of all trophies (which is a seriously worrying prospect at the mo)
  • Following weekend is Sunderland - that's the time to be resting people
  • Some key players will want to prove they are better than the first half last weekend
  • Our bench is uninspiring at the mo (given that Flamini is not back until after the Liverpool game and Theo and Ramsey are injured)*. That said I can't see how Wenger can laud Podolski as a great striker and never use him (last night, when Giroud was obviously out of sorts was the obvious introduction point for him, but still no game time - the guy must be biting through the back of his seat just sitting there waiting to be a transfer out pawn)

So maybe Chamberlain gets a start, to bench-rest Cazorla, and Pod gets some game time later, but that's about it I suspect.

* Bench

Bendtner - no way

Fabianski - no need to rest Szzzczzz

Monreal - Gibbs looks fresh and is more reliable

Sanogo - untried. Give him a run if we are 2 up to Sunderland

Jenkinson - Sagna's experience essential against your attack

Actually - on reflection....

We have no chance against Bayern now. Would have given them a run for their (not inconsiderable) money up until about early December but we are shot - too small a squad left after typical season of injuries for Arsenal.

Should be prioritising getting a top 3 place in the League, then the FA Cup, and leave CL to hang this year - play Bayern defensively so we don't get slaughtered. Our defence is still our strong point. We need to give Sagna the money (now please) to show the club is prepared to stop the rot of 8 seasons and build on the plank that gave us a great first half. Just stop trying to pinch the pennies for once!

Give up on the CL? Arsenal diehards (where are you Chic?) will slaughter me, but somethings gotta give or the dam will burst and we will have got no further forward than last year.

Oh - and we will nonetheless beat you guys on Saturday!

Another example of Arsenal attempting to take advantage of their fans.

The Chief Executive ought to be ashamed of themselves, charging the fans 132 quid for a seat.

And Chicog has the gall to talk about City and money.

Arsenal really are a horrible little club.

By the way, City are charging their fans between 35 and 55 quid, to watch Barcelonathumbsup.gif

Let's not get too hysterical here:

Of course things cost more in central (ish) London than urban Manchester - ever compared the cost of a pint? (I'm a Northerner myself so don't lets start a North v London debate - if those prats down there want to spend loads of money on houses and beers more fool them!)

Your mob will start to rack the prices up once they have had a few stadium filling seasons of your new stadium at 60,000 plus. Never to London prices I agree

Arsenal wouldn't be doing it if they had an oil prince chucking dosh at them.

You exaggerate, even from the base point of the Daily <deleted> Fail - they say "some fans may be paying 60 to 132 quid". You say "charging fans 132 quid"; for all we know 132 quid is going to be for the minority of premium seating. If most fans will be paying 60 quid then it may not be that much horrendously more than your lot.

It's an absolute bargain compared to prices at the opera*

That said - the way the lads are playing these last couple of months and the potential for humiliation I would think twice about paying that kind of moneysad.png. It is also tactically stupid when the mood is switching back to resenting the penny-pinching nature on field (January window, Sagna contract).

*ok so I just threw that one in to annoy you all (I much prefer rock)smile.png

You cant defend the indefensible, mate.

Ivan Gazidis (Arsenal’s chief executive) promised that when commercial revenues rose it would reduce ticket price increases. To date, those are just empty words.’

Steven Maxwell, who pays £1,995 for his gold-level season ticket, will miss the match after being quoted £117.98 for his usual seat. He said: ‘I take no pleasure in doing this. It’s like fighting with a loved one. Arsenal are like a girlfriend who doesn’t love you back.’

Arsenal Supporters’ Trust spokesman Tim Payton said: ‘We are very concerned. Season-ticket holders have already paid up to £2,000 in advance — the highest in world football. Their commitment deserves better

And from Guardian..............................Arsenal have both the most expensive season ticket in the Premier league and the highest 'lowest priced' season ticket, making them the most expensive team to watch in the UK.

And you talk about prices in London. Arsenals cheapest and most expensive season tickets are almost double the prices of Chelsea.

Chelsea, I believe is considered London? And Chelsea have won a heck of a lot more than Arsenal have over the past decade.

No, it seems to me that the board are taking advantage of decent fans like yourself.

I just find it disgusting, as a football fan. Where is all your money? You aint spending it on your team!! You aint looking after your fans!! Your Directors are having it away, mate. Greedy Barstewards

Don't be silly. Everyone knows that owners that invest in their club are ruining the game. We need more owners that want to milk them for all their worth. ;-)

Calm down, this is just some shit Daily Mail journalism as usual. For a start, the cheapest Arsenal season ticket is GBP985.

The two grand tickets are for the muppets that pay to sit in the prawn sandwich ring and drink free piss weak budweiser out of plastic cups at half time. You'll notice they're the ones that disappear for half time + 10 mins either side so they get their money's worth, the muppets.

They've obviously found one bloke who hates Wenger and his missus his pissed with him because he hasn't booked a nice restaurant for Valentine's Day.

And more importantly, THEY'VE ALREADY PAID.

Platinum Members please note that your Membership cards will be valid for this fixture.

Gold members (Season ticket holders) – Please note that this fixture will be the eighth Cup tie in the FA Cup and/or Champions League which is NOT included within your season ticket.

In previous seasons, when we have played more than seven cup matches at home, season tickets have been automatically activated and the additional cost of extra matches has been added to the renewal price for the following season. Therefore, if you are a season ticket holder and wish to attend the match against Bayern Munich you just have to simply turn up with your season ticket and enter the stadium as normal.

If you do NOT wish to attend the fixture against Bayern Munich on Wednesday 19th February 2014 and would like to 'opt out' of this service, please click here and follow the simple instructions which will deactivate your seat. As we are using the opt out service for this fixture the Ticket Exchange service will not be available, therefore we have extended the deadline.

Ouch!!! Mourinho on Wenger...."He is a specialist in failure, I'm not!" Don't think Jose likes Arsene too much!

Nice one. So Wenger's jibe about all these top four managers saying they can't win the league obviously got up his nose.

Such a nice guy is our Jose. I won't hear a word said against him!whistling.gif

Mourinho just doesn't like Wenger calling him on his bullshit.

At his own press conference ahead of Arsenal's FA Cup fifth-round tie with Liverpool this weekend, Wenger was asked why, apart from himself and Pellegrini, every other manager is ruling out title success.

The Frenchman responded: "It's a fear to fail.

"If you're not in the race you cannot lose it, if you declare yourself not in the race you cannot lose it, simple as that.

"I think just that our job is to be ambitious and to try to win, if we do not win to take full responsibility for that. That's as simple as that and that's how I see it.

"I say yes we are in it, yes we will have a go for it, we will absolutely give everything to go for it and if we don't do it I will take responsibility for it, but I just see it like that."

Exactly.
