really. you ever been to a decent resort anywhere in thailand and seen any africans. no, me neither because they are not here as tourists or qualified to teach and are generally up to no good. only a tiny fraction are. so clean them up and ship them out. but you enjoy your little race card crap

You ever read local news about westerners operating forgery/drug/smuggling rings here, killing and dismembering their fellow men out of business disagreements, greed and plain old jealousy?

Yeah, me too. Enough of these fellas around to fill a few decent resorts several times over.

But hey, nevermind, there are still some indians selling fake Rolex around Soi Cowboy.

I approve of the arrests 100%. For what it's worth I've been visiting Thailand since the 80s and the character of tourists in the Sukhumvit area has changed dramatically for the worse, horribly in fact and it is not safe, no way I'd hang out there these days.  I'm relieved to know this happened.  Congratulations to Thailand, it's about time.

Not quite sure how dna is going to help keep them from returning unless they begin testing in situ.

Makes a nice sound byte though...

Maybe undercover police women collecting semen ?   555

Its just a pantomime. The police round up a few drug pushers from time to time to make it look like they are doing something. 4:30 today, the day after the 'crackdown' , a walk past the 7-11 at the end of Suk Soi 13 will confirm the Africa drug pushers are already out and hassling passers by. Also the day after the last 'crackdown' at the Nana hotel in Soi 4 the African ladies were out in force grabbing the arms of passers by. These illegals so obviously stick out like sore thumbs you can't help wonder whether Lumphini police and their higher ups really are that incompetent.....or whether are at the top of the pyramid running the African's drugs and sex trafficking criminals operation.

you missed my point. i think they all need cleaning up i assure you especially the western fraudsters, and most know who they are, but i'll happily watch this scum get mopped up in the mean time. or is what you are saying is they just leave them all alone?

think you'll find they cracked down on the biker drug smugglers already.

so one more time, stick your race card mate

Dear Immigration Police:  Just how exactly did these 38 manage to pull off "unlawful entry into the kingdom"???   :passifier:

Did they sneak past the Immigration checkpoints while someone was out to lunch???

These guys don't look like your typical "English teachers" -- not even in Thailand!

Also it would be nice if the various media reports could even vaguely come up with the same "facts".

Thai Rath and The Nation say the 75 were arrested at 110 locations around the country and the police announced the arrests at a Soi Cowboy press conference.

Khaosod says 75 were arrested at Soi Cowboy.  Not quite the same, guys.

Unless Khaosod was right and the other two were totally wrong, it wasn't really a BIG crackdown on Soi Cowboy -- just announced there... Probably to coincide with the latest prostitution kerfuffle.

75 foreigners arrested in nationwide crackdowns

By The Nation

Police from several agencies arrested 75 foreigners in an operation to search 110 areas around the country on Tuesday night.

The arrests were announced at a press conference at 1:30am on Soi Cowboy in Bangkok by Tourist Police deputy commissioner Pol Maj General Surachet Hakpal.

He said the arrested foreigners included people from Uganda, Sudan, India and Cambodia.

Surachet said 34 of them were charged with overstaying tourist visas, 38 with unlawful entry into the kingdom, and three for working in the kingdom without a work permit.

He said Tourist Police joined forces with immigration officers, narcotics suppression police and local police to search living areas and resorts frequented by foreigners. The aim was to try to minimise crimes committed by criminals who disguise themselves as tourists.

The 75 suspects will be blacklisted and deported, he added.

I personally witnessed them test an entire nightclub under purachai between the hours of 12 - 3 am. Must have been a couple hundred people.

I was also lucky enough to be present when they raided a private house party and. Shipped about 50 people off to lumpini in the back of pick up trucks for testing. That took 3 or 4 hours to complete.

Once the arrest is made, there is plenty of time to process people.

Re dna sampling, how long does it take to take a mouth swab?

So the police are breaking the law by putting people in the back of a pick-up!!!

If you want to ask the immigration police a question, it would be better if you asked them directly, as they probably do not read Thai Visa

All 78 people arrested were dark in color

In the UK, a phrase like that would have caused a national uproar among the progressives and multiculturalists, with questions in the House, calls for curbs on the Press and demands for a  inquiry into racial targeting by the police.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

At least they were decent enough to underline that they were  "people" - improvement Thailand, just the "Color Obsession" left which seems to be a tricky one ....:coffee1:

There was a time. When Thailand was a country into itself. The culture and along with it, the corruption, narcissism and the belief in wealth relates to being a good person went hand in hand, which is completely opposite to their Buddhist faith,  however times were mostly good and farangs were happy until otherwise and so was the populace.

It worked

The next stage is going to be a lot more dangerous.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

First they came for the overstayers , but I did not speak out

Because Im not an overstayer

They then came for the illegal workers, but I did not speak out

Because Im not an illegal worker

They then came for the drug dealers, but I didnt speak out

Because Im not a drug dealer

They then came for the criminals, but I did not speak out

Because Im not a criminal

And we all lived happily ever after in Thailand without these people
