CityNews – The Royal Rain Department has announced that it getting ready to start seeding the clouds as of the 1st March to encourage rainfall that will help disperse the smoke pollution.

The aim is to generate rain to alleviate the smog as well as to help fill reservoirs around the north. The department announced that it aims to help reduce PM10 levels to the Thai standard of 120 µm/m3. The department expects to work through to the 31st of October.

Don't mess with nature you fools. It will rain when it rains.

Would be easier to look at the FIRMS fire map and start arresting people who are setting the fires in CM and Mae Hong Song. There were hundreds over the last 24 hours.

Firstly you need some reasonably good clouds to seed with silver iodide and many scientists pour scorn over the idea as the science is pretty shaky. It might be possible to intensify an existing storm in this way, but pulling storms out of hot cloudless air is nonsense. This subject does keep coming back though due to severe water shortages in so many places...so hope springs eternal, I guess.
