Anyone know who this bunch are -

They had the top management of Khao Khieow - Khao Chompu National Park running around with M16 armed rangers keeping people out of the area near the zoo. I notice also in this area they have had the earth mover equipment in recently as if in preparation for a off road event. Not sure if the two are related. They must have some money and influence as well as shiny modified vehicles.

They pay a lot of money to tart up their bog-standard pickups and SUV's with knobby tires, gas shocks, lift kits, beefed-up coil overs, bull bars, winches and rock sliders. Then they get together each weekend and try not to tip them over on artificial 'off road' tracks while posing with as many wheels as possible up in the air.

I get paid to do something similar with other people's bog-standard pickups and SUV's on real off-road situations on my job in Myanmar. I really don't see how one can get pleasure bouncing around while crawling along in 4-low or getting bogged to the ass in creek beds that can quite easily be avoided.

The funny thing was not one of their vehicles nor the occupants had a speck of dirt on them. Club stickers on everything though.

The head honchos from the NP were saying it was all about Premchai and Thung Yai Nareusan. <deleted>. A load of BKK "off-roaders" probably including one general's son had the rangers springing into action. And they were probably doing things in the NP not entirely in line with conservation.

Ford Everest Club Australia ... on Facebook...a few videos of proper off roading ...

Quite typical here - all show and no go. It's all about appearance for most Asians with pretty much everything.
