g,day, wondering if i can get an answer. australian embassy not much help.

april 2017 my thai girlfriend and i submitted a partner visa.feb 2018 we got married

in Thailand.village/registered. still waiting conformation of partner visa.

we had the chat (me in Aust. wife in Thailand,) on phone with man from embassy.

he said everything that needs doing for visa is done, nothing more to do,

we just need to wait for outcome.wife still has 12 month visa open, has come to Aust for one 3 month

stint.i understand she needs to be in Thailand to recieve partner visa,BUT,

can she be in Aust. when decision is made and go back to Thailand to

recieve partner visa?? the embassy did say at one stage

" Please also note that, for the visa paertner 309 to be finalizd, the application need to be outside of Australia at the time of decision'

ive heard from others that they been in Aust they get phone call/email "your partner visa approved"

they go back to Thailand and get.i know rules and reg. change all the time.

so anybody able to shed any light on the subject thanks.

Seeing as the waiting period now is 18 months plus, it's doubtful she would be in Australia

when it's time to grant.

To answer your question, she cannot be in Australia at the time of grant.

What you would need to do is advise your case officer of her travel dates.

Case officer would then either contact you and say they're ready to grant

and she has to leave or more likely, wait until your girlfriend leaves the country before granting.
