How Delete Commercial Line Chat

I had this great(??) idea to download Line stickers from the likes of PTT. Now I find it impossible to delete their access to my Line account. I can only delete chats as they send them. Has anyone solved this annoying problem?

Yes. Open Friends tab, long press on PTT or any others you don't want to receive messages from, and press Block.

And once you have them placed in the Block category you can then Delete them.  Basically, block first and then you can delete.  Or at least you can do that with Friends; assuming you can do it for Official accounts also (except the LINE Official account).  Try it with the PTT official account and see what happens.

The problem is that they don't don't show up on the Friends tab. So can not be locked or deleted. I only see them on Chat tab and can only block the chat each time they send something.

Again, the problem is when I hit the Friends tab the commercial accounts are not listed. They only show up on the Chat list. On that list there is no block option.

I deleted the chats they sent today. Could that be the reason? Do I need to wait until they send another chat?

If you deleted the whole chat another chat will not appear until they or you send another chat message.  However, they will still be listed in your Friends area where your Official accounts, human friends, etc., are listed...where you can select a friend to start a chat with.

That's the problem. Since they only appear on the Chat list there is no way to delete them that I can see. Very sneaky. Line must sell this feature to their advertisers. But it only makes me pissed at the advertisers.

You are saying you don't have a listing under your Friends named Official Accounts like shown in below weblink given earlier? You gotta have the Official listing even if the only account listed in it is the LINE official account.

As mentioned in the previous reply, they appear in a subfolder in the Friends tab, titled Official Accounts.

Wow! I noticed "Official Accounts" this morning and decided to click it. I never thought the commercial accounts would be official accounts. But they probably were listed as such in the store. Duh. There is a whole row of LIne things at the top of the Friends list now that never used to be there.

 

I blocked all but one (AIS)and then was distracted. When I just went back to Official Accounts, the last one, AIS, was no longer there. It was there this morning. But it also wasn't in blocked accounts. Any ideas?

Another question. My account uses my Thai phone number. So any stickers are in Thai so I would be afraid to use them since I don't know what they say.

Is it possible to switch to my American phone number for the Line account so the stickers would be in English?  How?

What effect would it have?

Duh! Again. To Block I just need to go to the chat and hit the down arrow on right. 5555

 

Still have the questions about changing the phone number. I think I can go to Settings>Account>Phone number and change to an American number. Will that change my Friends list or anything else?

I thought you want want to "Delete" some of your official accounts, but you are Blocking them only.  Now that you have some Blocked why don't you go into your Friends Blocked area and delete the official accounts you don't want anymore.

I wanted to delete them but, as you said, I needed to block them first. So I did that, then I deleted them which is what I wanted. Thanks for your help and concern. I wish I was better at this stuff. 

 

The instruction on how to delete once they were blocked was not intuitive to me so was very helpful. Thanks again.

Glad it worked out.  I'm very new to LINE also...less than two weeks now.  Both the wife and I started LINE accounts less than two weeks ago primarily so we could communicate in a LINE group our moobaan homeowners association has setup to crossfeed moobaan related info.  And the wife had been wanting LINE for a while since many of her family/friends kept asking her "why she doesn't use LINE."  Really "why doesn't she use LINE to play."    They would actually use the "play" word.   My wife is not very smartphone-use proficient so I always end up installing, setting up, maintaining new apps for her....makes me useful to her.

 

By "play" means to spends a lot of time sending pictures and useless chat back and forth....you know, just wasting a lot of time....spending half you day staring at your phone.  But hey, that's our social media modern world now days.   Plus, Thais use LINE big time for social media purposes.

 

Anyway, I've spent a fair amount of time trying to figure out how to use LINE.  Instructions/how to use by googling are pretty weak.....even the LINE website is weak on instruction. 

 

And I definitely agree a lot of things about using LINE are not intuitive probably because making it too easy for a LINE member to do certain things can impact LINE revenue/profit streams....and one of the major revenue streams is Official accounts which are really dedicated to advertising & selling a company's product/service.   And of course selling cute little stickers is the probably LINE's number one major revenue streams.

 

OK, rant over....need to check my LINE account.
