Hooligan monkey being a pig at Ang Thong market

A cheeky pig-tailed macaque has been freeloading off the goods at a fresh food market in Muang Ang Thong and the vendors want something done about it.

 

It’s suspected that the monkey rode into town on a vegetable truck from Lop Buri and decided to stay where the dining was good.

 

It makes its way across rooftops and power lines, descending whenever it’s hungry to blatantly steal fruit and vegetables as the vendors look on helplessly.

 

Should the retailers try to intervene, it gets snarly.

 

Tuk-tuk driver Somsak Yensanit, 36, said the monkey showed no fear and there was concern it might attack children.

 

He said residents want authorities to capture the animal and take it back into the wild.

we all know this will end with the usual 500baht fine and 

 

theft is a serious offence and should be properly punished no matter who it is

Seems pretty simple to put him on the same turnip truck out of town...

 

 

This monkey does show signs of intelligence, maybe they could find a leading roll for him in the Road Safety Policy Committee

The Thai Police will be on to him. He's covered as part of their "Operation Black eagle".

Won't last long dicing with death in Thai overhead cabling.
