Here I go again! How about the public storage?

Featured Replies

What do you mean exactly? Storage for house furniture etc or some where to lock up valuables for the day when walking around and shopping or when your hotel doesn't have a safe?

Thanks, Randell.

I need a place to keep my stuff being shipped from out of Thailand. I'm moving to retire in Chiang Rai, so I have about one or two or a bit more shipping pallets of my personal stuff that need a place to land while I still looking for a rental property.  Here in the States, there are public storage that people can rent to put their stuff there because they don't have room at home or a place to keep it.

It's likely that Chiang Rai may not have this kind of public storage or something similar to -- I'm afraid. But just want to get info. in case she has (and I'll feel lucky ).

I cannot say that I've seen anything like it locally, in Western countries it's quite common but a search on the internet shows little outside of Bangkok.

You may need to talk to a local business with secure space going spare and see if you can come to an arrangement.

Your stuff would be coming in a 20 foot sea box. You could just keep the box either rent or buy. It just about fits into a hotel parking space so just leave it there instead of the car you don't have.

Easy to sell a box. My neighbours use one as a garden shed and I've seen one used for growing mushroom.

In Cambodia I've seen them used as backpackers and a bar and police office.

Wow! Thank you so much. I've never thought about it before.

Haven't mentioned that my husband and I bought a piece of land in Chiang Rai long time ago. I can leave in on my property, but have to clean up the vegetation and level the ground a bit --- fencing the land as well.

Such a great idea! Thanks again.

Chiang Rai bus station has a place for storage , 30 baht per day, open 24 hours
